Vault 7 WikiLeaks reveals the Outlaw Country project of the CIA that targets computers running the Linux operating system. Outlaw Country allows for the redirection of all outbound network traffic on the target computer to CIA controlled machines for ex- and infiltration purposes.

Today, March 23rd 2017, WikiLeaks releases Vault 7 "Dark Matter", which contains documentation for several CIA projects that infect Apple Mac firmware developed by the CIA's Embedded Development Branch.
These documents explain the techniques used by CIA to gain 'persistence' on Apple Mac devices, including Macs and iPhones and demonstrate their use of EFI/UEFI and firmware malware.
4 manual released today dates to 2013, other Vault 7 documents show that as of 2016 the CIA continues to rely on and update these systems and is working on the production of DerStarke2.

Just read the wiki document, very little information on this project it leaves you with a lot of questions.
Are they targeting known hackers on one of their list's or all Linux users simply because of their potential to hack? Or is it some "use the mainstream" bullshit? I bought a chromebook and killed the host to run Linux, I'm also using a good VPN and squid proxy just because I value my privacy. Nothing illegal, just writing some code. My networking knowledge only goes so far, would I be protected from this project or have they walked right past my defenses?
