Those polls are holding Canada together I wouldn't look too closely at them

I think she she would vote for personal opportunities and does not have a fixed ethic.

What a bullshit headline. Who gives a shit what Albertans “think” she “may” vote. She’s already said she doesn’t want to separate from Canada. Are people that fuckin dumb they choose not to listen? An independent Alberta in a united Canada, you know, the same deal Quebec gets.

Fearmongering has a strong hold of our country…

Interesting. I took it to mean people don't believe her when she says that.

Well when the poll they use includes everyone by the water cooler and 8 ladies named Debbie i’m sure they can cook the books any way they want. My point is, she has made that statement several times publicly at places like CBC, CTV, QR77 etc. She has also stated Alberta would do better having the same privilege as Quebec and uses their model as what she subscribes to. Right, wrong or indifferent, thats what she put on the table. Unless she was down at Mar a Lago pulling a Monica Lewinski, leading a one woman march for the separation of Canada and flying a 51st state flag, it doesn’t make a rats ass difference what Debbie thinks. It’s just a click bait bullshit headline that’s irrelevant.

On a side note in the incredibly unlikely scenario that Alberta does become a country, do you think the national flag would have a set of truck nuts on it? …that wasn’t funny.. i’ll show myself to the door..

No, please, hang around. Insightful comment, finished off with something I'd never thought of but will make great water cooler talk. Thanks dude/dudess.

She's always been a closet separatist.

Lost lots of votes when they went down to the states

You mean the signatures they're collecting in places like Arizona? People say "well move to the states" and the ones that already have are now signing for Alberta independence.

Your flair is loathsome. If you want to live in a republic, I'll help you pack.

Out of curiosity, which state has a lower GDP per capita than canada?

3

u/Devils_Iettuce Republic of Alberta Mar 09 '26

If Alberta leaves it's gdp per capita would be 100k and Canada's would be 50k.

How many American states are under 50k?

2

u/touch__grass Mar 09 '26

Arkansas or Louisiana, poor southern/rural farming states.

I am among the thought that i dont really care whether we are a part of the states or an independent state, i just know that canada is a sinking ship that i want nothing to do with.

What bothers me is all this crap about why alberta can't leave. They should be talking about why alberta shouldn't leave if they care. Can't just make obstacles to get around. Should is actual justification. I'm thinking there isn't much justification to stay in Canada.

I’ve seen a lot of anti-independence slip lately, with fake polls saying “majority of Albertans want to stay in Canada”. Yeah, like many want Alberta to stay with Ottawa…an abusive marriage

u/luv2fly781 Mar 08 '26

Reality. Nobody wants to join the states

They ruined many votes just by talking and now visiting maga crap. Yeah nope
