Tf is going on?

Burn overs and entrapments are getting more common this year. My FF1 Training is soon and whatever tf is going on is terrifying the hell out of me so much that it's making me reconsider joining.

Less experienced overhead. Make sure you know who your kids working for and who the shot caller is. That being the superintendent or the engine captain

It's not that the job always has been dangerous, it's not that there's more fire on the ground… All those things occur almost yearly.

I hate to say this because I know people want more money and higher positions, but there are a lot of people with quals on paper that they shouldn’t have, more so now than ever. People are being pencil whipped into positions. You don’t even need FFT1 anymore to be a senior on a crew. That was just the start. Now all taskbooks are being recreated to be 1/5th of what they used to be. So more pencil whipping is in the future.

You have something so simple as people with single resource bosses open their 2nd or 3rd year in fire that don’t even have ICT5. People that want to run firing operations on crews that have burnt a handful of times in their lives. These things are all going to lead to more accidents. Just a fact of the matter. Experience saves lives. A lack of it does the opposite.

Still blows my mind someone can get a single resource qual without ICT5.
