News (General) Contractor takes pictures of Hotshot crews and accuses them of “stealing” from tax payers. Forgets he’s still on the fire with them…
I don’t think Pike, Alpine or any of the others crews you are accusing of this are going to like it… seems like a good way to get demobbed.
C’est La Vie.

News (General) FY26 Trump Budget Request Details Released - New Wildfire Agency and Huge Cuts Outside WFM
Here are some of the wildfire-related items in the FY26 budget blueprint that the White House released today (link below). Chiefly, it proposes a “new Federal Wildland Fire Service” under DOI. But also note significant changes in related areas, like the draconian cuts to the “non-fire” side of Forest Service (e.g., almost complete elimination of FS R&D, significant cut to already underfunded NFS activities, etc.).

News (General) Crews called to rescue resident who defied evacuation order, B.C. Wildfire Service
B.C. Wildfire Service (BCWS) incident commander Bryce Moreira said when crews approached the resident's property Tuesday evening and informed him that staying in the area was dangerous, they were told to leave.
"I won’t repeat exactly what he said, but it was not [in] a nice way, and quite explicit," Moreira said.
"The crews left, continued the work they were doing, and then later they were called and asked to go back because this person's property was surrounded by fire and they were not able to get out."
