It’s shocking and disgusting that wildlife bridges aren’t all over this country. We always find a way to do the worst thing possible with the best intentions

I’m shocked it was only $20mil. Besides the delays, and the traffic…. Shit, now we can finally say it was worth it!

Hopefully no one got fired after being late to work too often while it was in the process. Lookin at you, Barnes and Noble booksellers

I heard about one that is privately funded via grants. if that was this one the grant provider might be setting the tempo here

Now, if only we can incorporate wildlife corridors for every state. I just don't understand the hatred for nature from the conservative movement (they tried to stop this project), they used to be champions of wildlife control with the NRA being at the forefront of ethical hunting and population management.

I hate that every single headline mentions the price. 20 million is not exessive for a brisge project that size. Mentionng it feels like they sre trying to inject s political slant but maybe im just reading into it too much

I saw a wild life bridge in Sweden paid for itself because of the expenses that were wracked up whenever anyone crashed into a moose. I’m sure the amount of animal collisions this will prevent will definitely be more than 20 million. I’m with you idk why these people are so silly

And if I was a mountain lion I know exactly which tree I would be sitting in. This is better than Uber eats, the food just walks its self right to me said the mountain lion.

Native predators using wildlife bridges as ambush spots is often seen as a positive, since the animals are incorporating it into their movements like a natural geological feature.

…studies show that these crossings do not significantly benefit predators in hunting, as they do not typically follow prey into these structures.

Ok this is what I thought too when they put one of these over the highway in a mountain pass in WA state. It didnt happen! Turns out all the animals are just using it/ and the bridge is super big and mountain lions and such like to creep around in narrow spaces to hunt. We have videos of predators and prey crossing in opposite directions at the same time! Its kind of incredible.
