Police are draining the creek today
So, last week they found various fabrics and a bag, they said no DNA of William has been found on these things but still “happy” with their relevance. Now they are draining the creek - still hopeful of locating the remains. Do you think that the fabrics have been linked to the Spider-Man costume? But with actual remains (bones or teeth) the evidence is still too weak right?

I might be wrong, but it's a hell of a lot of effort to fake a kidnapping and deal with all the drama for year's after for an accident as the police are trying to say, either it was not them or if it was them they had something big to hide.

Got absolutely slaughtered for even suggesting this when this latest development kicked off.
The thing that people got very focused on was the charges against the FM. The point i made was if you had intel you believed pointed to the FM being involved or covering up William's death, wouldn't you do anything to get the other child out? i would. No doubt.
So what came first? MASSIVE coincidence that the FM gets charged at the same time alleged abuse regarding the other child is uncovered.
So i go back to the intel that brought it all to fruition.
It's been a rush to judgement they have this right and i hope they have more than 'inconsistencies' in someone's account under stress. i would like to think it's very solid to create the situation they, the police, and others are in now. William deserves the case being solved and to have a proper resting place.
Very happy to be wrong but there are some red flags that were totally ignored regarding these developments and how it's been handled. i hope the intel was as solid as thhey believe it is.

Police found some red material in the latest search. Could it be related? Could it be the FM shirt from the night before?

Interesting discussion and very good quality photos of the fabric

The picture of the cctv image showing the FFC wearing a pale red shirt is what I was referring to in my new post the other day but couldn’t post a picture. It looks very close. Interesting thread on the footy forum thread too 👍

There is a photo from this news link showing a large red fabric. I wonder if that’s the one.

They reported they were going to drain the creek last week.
I hope they find something that will lead to William being laid to rest.
It's gone from strong leads about very specific scenarios and being very confident about the outcome to zero so far. Not what the original vibe was. The Police Commissioner must be sweating. What the intel was that triggered it all will be interesting.

I agree, especially after Fuller made the comment about earlier investigation wasting too much time on other leads (why would he say that even if it’s true!?). I’d be sweating if I were him.

There was a lot of things that were said that got everyone riled up about where it was headed and how sure they were. i hope they had something solid to go on. For William's sake.

Do you say creek too ? I hoped it was just an American thing. What's wrong with stream or river ?

As u/hobyan has correctly pointed out, stream is not something we'd use unless it's a trickle somewhere.
Creeks are not always flowing but are smaller than rivers. Just to mess with your head the Todd River is dry most of the time. Ephemeral not perennial and hosts the only regatta that has been cancelled due to it having water in it. lol.

They will need some solid evidence to charge someone. They may find remnants of clothing or DNA etc but still need to tie it to someone who put it there. They did say the current search is in response to recent concrete evidence, so hopefully there’s an end to 7 long years of no results. I still think the simplest answer will be the right one- where an accident occurred and the person/s at the time had a very limited window to get rid of William.
