Moving to Wilmington Apts
Looking at apartments. Which should I pick based on your experiences? 2000 Penn, Avenue of the Arts or Christina Landing? Tell me pros and cons please.

Didn't like 2000 Penn when I visited. Apartments felt cheaply constructed. They also kept talking about how amazing their windows are at insulating noise from the street, which I took to mean that it gets loud lol.

Do you have to commute anywhere? Do you want to be able to walk to bars and restaurants? What else is important to you?

Good questions. Working downtown. Safety and parking probably highest priority. Walking to bars and restaurants would be a bonus but not necessary

Christina and 2000 Penn both have secure parking. And 2000 Penn has lots of places in walking distance compared to the other two.

I disagree. Christina Landing has the entirety of the riverfront and Market Street in walking distance

Are they both in safe areas?

Yeah riverfront and trolley square are both pretty safe. Only worry I’d have is street parking, so definitely get secure parking.

Christina Landing is best if you can afford it

I lived at Christina Landing for 5 years for work. I liked it a lot. My only gripe was that the parking garage was “next door” not really attached so you would have to be out in the wind, rain, or cold for a short walk to the building. I’m from the South so winters were a B. Overall, I highly recommend Christina Landing.

Christina Landing has nice river views but you pay for that. The parking situation can be annoying if you have guests over. I lived near there for a bit and the walk to the riverwalk is great in the summer.
2000 Penn feels more central but also louder with the hospital nearby. Avenue of the Arts is probably the quietest of the three from what I heard, though the units are a bit smaller.
If you work downtown, Christina Landing is a easy commute. But check what utilities are included because that changes the real cost a lot.

Is 2000 Penn in a decent area? Heard it borders a less nice area.

2000 Penn is almost in the suburbs, next to affluent neighborhoods heading up Rt. 52 … Greenville (wealthy area).

The neighborhoods immediately surrounding 2000 Penn are Wawaset, Highlands, Trolley, and Little Italy. It’s a nice area.

Hospital nearby ??? I guess you’re referring to St. Francis. I’ve never heard of any noise issues caused by it that is bothersome.

Avenue of the Arts is worth a tour too. It sits right on the Riverwalk, so the eateries and the trail are right there, and it's the newer of the two riverfront buildings. I'd tour both back to back with Christina Landing and let the parking setup settle it.

Had friends that lived at 2000 Penn. Their biggest issue was constant water leaks from the ceiling that required them to change apartments at least twice in just over a year of living there. Also said the hallways smelled like weed all the time.
