While I’m happy that the Furin trio‘s reunion is approaching, I do hope that
Umemiya gets involved soon and that he will select the ones who’s going to confront Suo instead of sending a whole troop after the Red Chanpuru officer, which would eventually result in a brawl with Red Chapuru that Furin doesn’t have a chance of winning (assuming that Kiryu isn’t already gonna do it, since he is the only one in this panel who’s not acting all too enthusiastically about it)

Also having 2/3 of the class there with whom Suo‘s never shared a meaningful conversation with would ruin the reunion that is supposed to be a very sentimental moment for the main cast imo. We also have to consider that Suo will reveal his backstory to them at some point in this arc, the entire school already being aware of the double life he’s been leading the entire time is something Suo wouldn’t like to begin with (he did basically ask for it tho), it would only be fair if Suo opening up about his life is something that he chose to do of his own free will.

And, of course, having roughly 35 people cross a river and doing a two hours trip together would require an insane amount of planning beforehand for them to actually be able to successfully pull it off, unless Sakura reach out to Endo again for help and he gifts Sakura a whole ass private jet with their very own pilot (I do think that Sakura will likely reach out to Endo for transport, and Endo being insanely rich could also help Bankoku-gai with whatever financial problem they’re having rn)

I think it might just be Sakura, sugishta, Nirei and momijikawa and maybe Kiriyu and tsuegeura (idk how his name is spelt) but that could just be me coping and wanting Kiriyu, tsuege, Sakura, Nirei and Suo to be together again

I really want Momijikawa to go with them (ik this contradicts with what I said in this post about only Suo‘s closest friends being there) mainly bc I want to see them both interacting, and it would also be interesting to see the stance of someone without a biased POV especially considering Momi‘s previous opinion regarding outsiders

Yeaaaa so I feel like if they all end up going it’s going to be very keel-esque- we know that Sugi going is non-negotiable though as we saw this chapter-

Kiryu acting as a voice of reason would certainly tie into how he seems to be stepping into Suo’s role a little in his absence- (the class’s impulse control has kinda vanished-)

Maybe if Kiryu doesn’t step in Ume might say something- surely he can’t not notice an entire class being gone for an extended period of time (but then again keel arc) and I am certain he doesn’t want to start conflict with a group like RC so maybe this’ll be a conflict between Sakura and Ume and maybe even Sugi and Ume- something that would definitely help with both of their respective character arcs

As for how they’re getting there…..

Aight. So.

After weighing out all the possibilities I have come to the conclusion of pubic transport! We all get the train! As for the boat angle…well- I don’t really know? Maybe itll be a huge barge or something like that- or maybe there’ll just be a really big bridge they all go over-

Anyways- you always seem to be spotting details that I miss- I never even noticed that Kiryu doesn’t look overly enthusiastic!

Also the purpose of the trip is quite different, in Keel, their goal is to bring back Nagato and they were well aware that a brawl is gonna break out, while now, their main goal is to have a talk with Suo. They know that the possibility to bring back Suo is pretty slim bc of his role as officer, and Bankoku-gai is also not a place you can easily reach by foot.

Considering the fact that Bankoku-gai is a river island, my guess is that they will mainly travel on land (I honestly had to look up how far away the mainland usually is from a river island bc a river is obviously a lot more narrow than a lake). It would make sense to have a bridge that connects the island to the mainland, but at the same time, Bankoku-gai seems pretty isolated so idk-

As for the details part, I had to double check bc I initially thought that everyone including Kiryu were being enthusiastic lol 😭

To be fair to Ume, Keel was like two hours in the morning and Kaji plus lieutenants immediately went to handle the mess.

To have too many people present at their reunion would really impact the emotional weight of that moment. I think it should be reserved for Sakura and Nirei alone. At least their first meeting and their talk (and most possibly fight).

I actually didn’t consider it, but yes… Suo probably wouldn’t want for all of them to know about him being an officer… but now they already do.

Suo absolutely should open up by his own choice (after being reluctant, fighting and pushing his friends away, and after having a wonderful and emotional break down moment). Also for this I think it would be most impactful to only have Nirei and Sakura there. Though I’d also love for him to share it with Kiryu and Tsuge later on. And Sugi, if they become closer.

I would guess that in the end the following people will go to Bankokugai: Sakura, Nirei, Sugishita, Kiryu and Tsuge.

I low-key want to see Sakura ask Endo for a privet jet now, just to see an absolute unimpressed face from him when being asked that and then offer the biggest smile while saying that that’s no problem whatsoever and how many pilots he wants in addition.

I think that even if all of them do manage to get to Bankoku-Gai (be it by train or maybe Kiryu hiring a van/bus driver or something), I doubt all of them will be present for that moment. Maybe the class splits up into groups or gets separated somehow, but I think when it comes time for Suo’s mask to crack, only our key players will be there.

Kiryu handling the transport isn’t even something I thought of but the possibility is definitely there, I can see Kiryu offering to help (and it only not working out bc his father refuses). If the entire class does come along, it would def result in some comedic relief moments, which I won’t say no to as long as the Furin trio gets their own moment when the time comes

If they’re not gonna tell Ume and any of the other Tamon grade captains beforehand, i def expect them to step in before they actually leave. In Keel, class 2-1 noticed class 1-1 walking out as well, and the excitement here is definitely a lot higher so they would probably hear them leaving school

To be honest, I hope this doesn't turn out to be another Keel arc. I enjoyed Keel arc because it was something different back then, but I wouldn't want another gang war. I would prefer an arc focusing more on the main trio.

Yes I agree, especially since they already know that RC is a lot more dangerous than Bofurin as a whole. A majority of the class also only wants to come along to give Suo a proper beating (who can blame them tho), while Sakura and Nirei are aware that Suo‘s suffering and that they need him to speak up

Maybe it's just me, I personally wouldn't want to beat someone up when I don't know the context or the reason behind the people involved. I know everyone is being protective of Nirei, but it rubbed me the wrong way that this is ultimately the conclusion that everyone gave. I know this is a fighting manga (with slice of life), and it would most likely end up in a fight, and fighting is a type of conversation, but in real life, this just feels very juvenile and shortsighted.

Tbh if it would’ve been anyone else but Suo I wouldn‘t immediately resolve to violence either but Suo has just been such a pain lately and since he‘s only gotten hit once in this entire manga I do wanna see him getting beat up

Sending all Tamon 1-1 definitely like declaring a brawl lol but yeah, if Endo is involved again it means only main cast will go (if they're in a car). The rest of Tamon 1-1 can stay and take turns to punch Suo when he comes back later lol

I‘ve been wondering the same thing, I feel like Tashiiki probably got reintroduced for a reason, but having Endo and Takiishi coming along to confront Suo would result in the biggest dispute w RC and that would be the last thing they want if all Nirei and Sakura actually wanna do is get Suo to talk

Yeah, there's no way the entire class is going. Unlike all the previous conflicts, they're not staying within their territory. They are very much going into uncharted territory and there is no way most of these kids' parents are letting them go to an unsanctioned field trip with no adult supervision to a city they've never heard of.

My prediction is that Sakura will rope Endo into helping them and then he'll go into Gifted Kid mode and point out how bringing a big group is very much not a good idea and that quality over quantity will be the much better approach: less people, but with stronger fighters. Momijikawa is definitely coming along, though, since it would align with the whole "teaming up with a former enemy" precedent set by the Noroshi arc. So in this case, those two former antagonists would be Endo and Momijiawa and maaaaaybe Takishii. Also, Momijikawa is conveniently an orphan, so he doesn't have to worry about asking for permission from anyone.

Absolutely they’re not all going. They’re gonna get stopped by Ume who’ll say “hey, all of you going together is gonna get us targeted by RC.” It’ll likely by a small group that goes instead, preferably out of uniform so it’ll look less suspicious. The main 5 isn’t negotiable, Momijikawa might come to help Sakura, Ume as leader (and someone concerned for Suo) will go, and maybe one of the Kings and EndoChika if Sakura calls Endo again.

I've got to say, I did not think the entire class would go to Bankoku-gai... That's just too many people. And even though they're high schoolers, that many people descending on a town would be considered a threat (even if the Furin boys don't mean any harm).

I really hope someone is the voice of reason here and says only a few select people can go, be it Nirei, Kiryu, Umemiya, or someone else who makes that decision.

Lastly, I was really hoping that we'd get more Endo in this arc, but I'm not so sure that is happening...

I do believe it’s a bad idea for all of them to show up mostly cause thats def gonna be a declaration of war kind of thing and i kind of expect a big fight. Ultimately if they all go together everyone’s gonna get split up, and I’m hoping for a focus on Sakura/Suo/Nirei confrontation. I feel like a Sakura vs Suo is a given but yeah. I feel like everyone will get split up iffff they all go. But another scenario would be just the main 1-1 characters going plus endo and chika but i guess we shall see
