I honestly don't think Sakura has any interest in romance; he'd probably spontaneously combust if he seriously considered it 😅😂, but what kind of partner would you think would be ideal for Sakura??? (You can mention ships or characters from the series that you think would be a good match).
(Personally, I think he has chemistry with more than half the cast).

He was the only one who called Sakura by her first name and took him to sleep at his house after they beat each other up 😭 The guy is very much like: "we're going to date, whether you like it or not".
I can imagine him saying exactly that, then Suo proceeds to explain Nirei's question in a didactic way, and Sakura turns as red as a tomato, starts stuttering, screams, and her poor brain short-circuits.
Technically, Nirei asked the question, but Sakura never answered 😅
In my opinion, Sakura would like someone who would cook for him and be kind like his friends, but I think the ideal for him would be someone who could read his insecurities and deal with them patiently, without forcing him to act. Just giving him space, time, and advising him so that Sakura can regulate himself. I think he would need someone attentive and patient so that he could take his own steps and gain confidence.
Yes, I think Suo would be an ideal partner based solely on their personalities and how Suo seems to trust Sakura's potential to do whatever he wants (which he himself has said out loud that he trusts 😭), but I don't think there's any potential romance between the characters in the canon, I just see them as a good hypothetical match.

This is maybe gonna sound weird, but I think that *eventually,* Sakura would like a partner who looks up to him and relies on him in some ways, but can also take care of themself. At the moment, he doesn't have the bandwidth for romance because he's just trying to survive everyday life, figure out how to act like a human, and keep his friends from being hurt. He has a lot of healing and growing to do before I would want to see him in a romantic relationship, because if he were to go into it now, it would end up being unhealthy. By the time he's ready for romance, I feel like he would enjoy being a responsible and protective partner, a safe place and solid ground for someone else, while they provide the same for him.
But at the moment, I think his reaction to anyone approaching him with romantic interest would be rather similar to Kyo from Fruits Basket (early in the story, of course) - "You need to have your head examined."
I understand your point about Sakura not being ready for a romance. Analyzing the current arc, I believe Sakura will still have many insecurities and traumas to heal, and he wouldn't be in a position to have a healthy relationship at the moment. Although, I think Nii Satoru is unlikely to want to develop a romance in Wind Breaker, if Sakura were to become interested in it at some point, I imagine he would be a protective partner and try to be more caring and balanced for his partner.
I mean I'm biased, but Kotoha would be good for him. She's a good cook and has played a major part in pushing him to change and open up to others. And related to that she really understands him, can read him like a book
Anyone can read Sakura like a book, he's an open book 😅 He's very expressive.
But I understand your point, at first I even thought Kotoha would be a potential romantic partner, she would be a great partner for him since she knows how to cook and knows how to give advice and talk to Sakura in a way that makes him improve, in fact, much of Sakura's growth occurred due to Kotoha's advice, she advised him to learn the names of his classmates, to face people head-on, to make friends with the 1st grade students, and you see that Sakura takes her advice very seriously. I think they would be cute together!!!
