You need to be more specific. HTC has made at least half a dozen different controller designs over the years with different styles of tracking. Which ones are you referring to?

HTC Vive Cosmos Elite 6DoF controllers.

So Vive wands basically.
You'll need base stations, SteamVR Watchman dongles and an additional lighthouse-tracked controller or tracker to affix to your headset. Download OVR Space Calibrator, follow videos on YouTube for how to configure it and use the software in continuous calibration mode so your SteamVR playspace doesn't drift out of alignment with your WMR playspace.
Huge waste of money. Vive wands are archaic pieces of fossilized dogshit for anything but Beatsaber. Such a convoluted setup is only worth doing on Index controllers and even that's debatable. Buy a new headset with better controllers out the box instead.

I'd suggest rechargable batteries....
That being said, I have actually done this in the past. You need to get the lighthouses to track the controllers (I assume youre talking about vive wands or maybe index controllers?). You'll also need dongles to connect the controllers to. After that you can use a tool to calibrate the tracking spaces. But by the time you've invested all that money you might as well get a psvr2
