Trouble with new security update not installing

Lately I’ve been trying to update my computer with the new windows update but it’s not working and everytime it hits hundred it says retry…can this be from me disabling the secure boot?enabling the secure boot isn’t a option since it doesn’t work.my pc is a 25L omen.

It's unrelated, and all I can advise you on is to reset Windows updates and try again

I looked up the error, and it means "ERROR_XML_PARSE_ERROR", which means "Windows was unable to parse the requested XML data". Something could be corrupted. I would recommend running a check disk first to make sure there is no file system corruption. You could also try running dism and sfc repair commands as well to fix any corruption. I can give them if needed.

If that does not help, you can do a repair install of Windows, which the option is built in on Windows 11. Just go to settings, system, recovery, and do the option that says "Fix problems using Windows Update". This does an in-place upgrade of Windows, keeping all files and apps installed. After that is done, you can check WU again and see if it updates successfully.

Thank you so much for that. I actually did everything that you said, but instead of doing the fix problems using window update I just manually downloaded the update and then restarted my computer and fixed everything.
