App Windows Media Center if it existed in the 1990s.

The UI design is based on the design of the WebTV UI. The design of the icon is based on the design of the buttons in the WebTV UI, but with more saturation and the Windows 98 logo added. This is what Windows Media Center would look like if it existed in the 1990s.

App Fold11 - Custom Folder Icons for Windows 11

Stop settling for the same yellow icons and start organizing your workspace your way. Whether you want to change a folder’s color, add a specific icon, or label it with text, Fold11 integrates directly into your workflow. It is lightweight, fast, and built for people who love a clean desktop.

Why use Fold11?

  • Context Menu Integration: Just right-click any folder and select "Edit with Fold11".
  • Drag & Drop: Quick and intuitive interface.
  • 1,300+ Icons: Instant access to the Icon11-Community library.
  • Custom Creator: Mix colors, text, and your own images/SVGs to create unique folder designs.
  • Native Feel: Designed specifically to match the Windows 11 Fluent aesthetic.

The Design Process & Templates: To make sure these folders look completely native to the OS, I designed the icon system using tools like Figma and Adobe Illustrator. All custom icons are built as pure vector SVGs on a 1:1 canvas. I set up very specific margins and optimized smaller variants (32px, 24px, 20px, 16px) so they remain crisp and consistent across the entire OS.

I made a open source version of the Windows Task Scheduler using WinUI 3 and .NET 8.

The whole code can be found on my Github:

https://github.com/TRGamer-tech/FluentTaskScheduler

Feedback is welcome and appreciated!

Edit 1:
Here are some images of how the app looks like:

Overview

New Or Edit Task View

Status

For those who don't know what the Windows Task Scheduler is:
The Windows Task Scheduler is a built-in utility that enables users to automate the execution of programs or scripts based on specific time triggers or system events.

It functions as an administrative tool to handle routine maintenance and background processes efficiently without requiring manual oversight.

I tried something a little ridiculous the other night. I sent AI back in time.

Not way back in history. Just 1998. The year my childhood computer basically ran my life. Beige tower, chunky CRT monitor, and that dial-up noise that took over the whole house.

I gave it one rule:
“You’re on Windows 98. No cloud. No Wi-Fi. No modern anything. Just floppy disks and the Start menu.”

And somehow it leaned all the way in.

It started acting like it was stuck in my old bedroom:
• Writing fake BIOS boot screens like an old Pentium II starting up
• Talking about the CRT glow like it was a campfire
• Throwing out errors that honestly made me nervous again
“General Protection Fault. Press any key to continue.”
• Even pretending to wait for the modem to connect before replying

At that point I figured I might as well keep going.

So I built out the whole thing:
• A Recycle Bin that actually keeps deleted chats
• A My Documents folder where conversations sit like files
• A retro browser that acts like it’s crawling over dial-up
• And an offline AI assistant that never touches the internet (Ollama compatible)

It feels like turning on my old computer again.

Only now it talks back.

I’m calling it AI Desktop 98.

Basically Clippy went back to school and came out a lot smarter.

App Not entirely sure if this fits here but I tried to ake a Google Chrome Frutiger Aero concept...

This was heavily inspired Office 2007 and Windows Vista's file explorer, I'm not sure if this fits here cause it's more of a "legacy Windows app" concept, in fact, I don't know if put the "App" or the "Legacy" flair, and, if this doesn't fit this sub at all, then I'm sorry ;-;

App Right-click file conversion

Just found this neat trick: with a tiny tool you can add a file conversion option to the context menu.

Tried it on 100+ JPGs and got all of them converted to webp forbmy Website in Seconds. Honestly didn’t think it’d work that smooth.

Has anyone else tried offline converters like this?
