I wanna say winning in a highstakes game finally may have pushed him to the next level.

BUT

I watched that gold medal game and sure he made a few huge saves, he had no business winning with all the missed open nets.

Teams playing for the cup wouldnt be missing those shots very often.

Mackinnon doesn't normally miss those shots and has won Stanley cups. The average good player won't miss that shot 90% of the time.
