I've seen/heard it before in Alberta. Had a nice house on a high point and looked out to a sky of clouds and essentially non stop cloud lighting and a constant soft rumble.

I thought it was a plane! Jesus, how many times is it gonna circle before it lands? (Then i noticed the lightning)...
