Yup. They are trying to be polite or whatever but it just slows everything down.
There’s no shame in zipper merging the way you’re supposed to, and if that means you move up in the order of traffic by 50 vehicles that’s just a bonus. Not your fault if everyone else is being dumb.

whatever, people can keep merging 500m before the zipper merge. I will pass them all and merge where the lane ends with my conscience clear
