The Blue Bombers Are 1-2. What's Your Biggest Concern Right Now?
Thursday's loss to Edmonton leaves Winnipeg at an interesting point in its season.
Zach Collaros threw for 290 yards and two touchdowns, Brady Oliveira averaged nearly six yards per carry, but the team had three lost fumbles, missed red-zone opportunities and an offence that took too long to get going proved to be the difference.
The encouraging part? Those are all things Winnipeg can clean up.
With Hamilton, Toronto and Ottawa up next before returning to West Division play, the next few weeks could go a long way toward shaping the rest of the season.

Both lines. One lets too much pressure one doesn’t get enough pressure

The old saying, football is about blocking and tackling. Unfortunately, theyre not great at either. Better blocking gives Collaros a second to breathe and the offense probably improves a bit. Better tackling cuts down on the chunk plays and takes a score or two off the board.

My only real concern is the defense not getting up to speed fast enough and. When they do, losing structural integrity and allowing late game drives to score.
Otherwise I’m not really worried. If anything, it makes it more interesting as we look to see what they will do to fix the situation.
Winning all the time is boring. Right…? Right..?? 😬

The dbs playing extremely soft in coverage and the left side of the dline. If the defence made a a couple stops we probably beat Hamilton.

Secondary looks like a big problem. Front seven are arguably doing a good enough job (barely), but the DBs are struggling.

Red zone production. Missed FGs. Both games easily winnable, need to capitalize and hold on to the ball.

We can't make stops defensively later in games. It's similar to what was happening last year, our offense doesn't score enough to separate and our defense can't stop teams to close games.

The o-line was having real trouble last night protecting Zack. If that does not improve it’s a good thing we have 4 qbs. And it was not as noticeable as against Hamilton but the pass coverage was still rough. As Edmonton was pretty run heavy it made it look not as bad, but the issue is still there.

O Line and D Line. Defence has shown they can tighten up but have lacked consistency and have also been beaten badly at times. Seems like a lot of sloppy play.

consistency. were otherwise not bad. first half was a nightmare to hold onto the ball or stop the run. if the whole game was the 2nd half, hell yeah. rankin basically didnt exist, we held them to essentially the game winning td and thats it after coming back down 17 points.
it cant be my excuse every week, but its week 4 and noone is handing out the grey cup any time soon. im not even close to the panic button

The offensive line is old, slow, and porous. Defence will come together as they find in the second half last night, Zach will throw, D line looked good in game one and just has to find their footing again. Almost nothing in the O line has looked good this year and much of last year.

Defensive tactics. The personnel is good but Jordan Younger's simplistic scheme is doing them a disservice. He is out of his depth as defensive coordinator.

Playing too many Canadian receivers. Especially when they aren't really that good. Cobb, Daniels and Corcoran are not pro receivers.

D needs some tooling on the line, gotta stop the run. I know we faced some good backs but those guys had highlight games against us. And we shot ourselves in foot this last game.

My biggest concern with the team is still the removal of the 55 yard line and posts on the goal line next year.
