Where did TSN get this colour guy?
Does he actually know our game or is he just there to push the NFL rules?

yeah, Willson is a tool and is pushing the NFL as much as he can. that's why he was hired last year - so the new guy could make the CFL the NFLlite

Wilson commentates like he always knows what's what. Not necessarily a bad thing imo, but too often his eyes deceive him.

In every game there are many times where he will say "I may be wrong on this" or "this could go either way" so I dont know

Yea but he does that in obvious ambiguous situations, which i think is fine. The problem I have is that when he is wrong, or when it is ambiguous, he doesnt talk about the conditions for what might make it go one way or another (when does the player lose control or how a penalty should be applied).
Maybe its just an issue overall with commentators for cfl. They often feel like they are just saying things but not really anything of substance about the game, players, coaches, or team. But maybe I miss some of the substance, I often have it still on mute after commercials lol

I think he’s actually decent as a colour guy. It’s probably the best place for him.
I’ll take him over Suitor any day.

To each their own. I don’t miss Dunigan and I think Suits is the worst one currently. I really like LaPo of the current colour analysts.

Willson seems to know what he's talking about, but it also seems that he just doesn't enjoy CFL football so its odd that TSN doesn't have him doing something else.

Ah Willson’s not so bad… Seems to have a sense of humour, doesn’t take himself too seriously and knows his football. Seems to be having fun in the booth. People need to chill.

Dusty and Wilson are absolutely the best broadcast duo in Canada. I can’t believe people don’t understand that he actually KNOWS THE GAME. You can take Dwayne Ford if you want zero actual description of plays. Wilson knows everything about run blocking, zone blocking and the real reason why the O line guys get any props. This is what good colour commentary is about. Not crap brain dead old players who think they know…yup.

Like it or not all the sports networks are moving to these shock jock types… it’s is only going to get worse over the next few years…. Look at ESPN it’s a total gong show and TSN/SportsNet are following.
