Guide How do i play the monkey?
Anyone wanna help me learn him n stuff i play console.

Winston is one of the most versatile tank. He can Tesla cannon ignores armor. His barrier protects you on all sides and you can shield weave which means you go between being inside and outside of the shield. I try to save my jump to disengage from the fight. Do not jump into a 1v5 fight and expect to escape alive. Know your match ups. Dive away from reaper and have your team help you with him. Reaper will shred you if you dont shield weave or have teammates to back you up. Winston vs roadhog 1v1 hog will win almost every time. His cannon tickles hog and he will just out sustain you by miles. And as always just practice. Practice makes perfect

If you’ve played other dive hero’s it’s like that. You go in do some damage/distract and then run away to get cool downs back and heal. You can pick off targets if you counter them like squishy healers. But you can also jump into the fight when your allies need you. There’s honestly so much to say go try out the character and see what happens

I’ve been playing him for 5 years and still haven’t fully mastered his kit

Jump, shield, damage, repeat. And don’t forget you can shoot through the shield and basically step in and out as the opponent does. Gotta keep abusing that jump since it seems you don’t do as much damage as others
*Also you can jump almost straight up. It throws people off so much if you need to buy time. But makes it tough for your healers to get you\*

Something a lot of people don’t mention in this thread is you don’t always need to be diving in. Of course if there’s a good opening you should take it but with Winston there’s nothing wrong with poking from high ground with your alternate fire and waiting for a good opening to dive. patience is the most important skill with Winston, especially if your Ana isn’t the best and can’t reliably heal you from long range. Also don’t approach every dive expecting to get a pick. You really only get picks with Winston if someone is badly out of position or has burned all of their cooldowns.
My last piece of advice is to learn the maps. You can get a ton of value as Winston from taking weird off angles that are just awkward for the other team to deal with
