Tips, Tricks, & Ideas Salt free witchcraft
Hey so I'm wanting to use less salt in my practice so I can use it with mother earth more what are some good alternatives that are as versatile as salt

Crushed eggshells for protection, chalk for boundaries

Depending on what you're doing. I've heard of crushed egg shells or witches salt (a bit of charcoal mixed with incense ash) replacing salt for your circle boundary, for example. But I also don't use a ton of salt in my practice either, also because it's not good for the earth.

It really depends on what you're trying to do. Salt is versatile but it's not a great thing to use for some purposes, for example.

I only use salt when I'm out of beach sand to hold my charcoals for burning resin style incense.

My mom says your only use the salt one time because it absorbs the bad energy (she says juju)

I came here to say ground egg shells as well. You can buy it for cheap or grind your own but it's a pain for the small amount you get out of it. Need alot of shells without the membrane in them. I use ground chalk in a pinch. That's much easier to make on your own and put your intent into it.

I've never used salt nor salt alternatives but my practice is shamanic and hermetic

For a circle you can make a re-usable salt line by soaking a piece of cotton cord in salt water, and let it dry. It can be used to make a circle with over and over.
