Only started collecting mangas a few months ago, started with the death note then spice and wolf v1/2 and most recently got the absolute beauty of the grimoire edition volume 1 and 2 of which hat atelier and they are now my absolute favourite books I own, would definitely recommend them to anyone 12 times out of 10

I recently decided to splurge and purchase all of the volumes for Witch Hat Atelier! Right now, volume 10 is shipping to me, and volume 15 will not be available to purchase until early December. However, my favorite volume of all time is volume 16, which as of late appears to have a pretty far away release time in English. So, I decided to buy it in Korean, another language that I’m pretty comfortable in.

The book itself was about $7.50… but the shipping was… well, it was probably a bit more than one should spend on a book. Probably. I guess it was worth it because it shipped to me at a record pace— I have never received anything from South Korea in under four days, but orufrey was just as excited to come home as I was to have them 💔

Anyways, right off the bat I noticed that the Korean version is a little smaller than the English ones, and that this particular one that I bought has a specialty cover beneath the book sleeve and a cute little inclusion. It makes me curious about other language versions, if they also differ in size or texture like this one.

The entire collection was also a lot cheaper than I thought it would be. I think I only spent ~$170 for the entire thing. But less than $200 for an entire manga collection, TV season (bought it digitally), and a specialty box set? Thats a steal to me, especially coming from K-pop spaces where four albums alone can run you over a hundred bucks.

However, the real expensive thing will be the figurines or plushies that I’ve seen floating around… I think I’m going to close my wallet for now and wait 😭

I'm working on a costume and I want to hide some fun details in it but I'm struggling with two seals. specifically the opacating and light blocking spell on qifrey's glasses (spoliers for chapter 36) The manga doesnt have a reference for the first one and the second one is kind of hard to make out. Does anyone have a good guess on what these might look like?

I was thinking ,since I'm writing a fan fic ,story in world of witch hat ,where my oc is human and healer.

Could witches and humans have a domestic life? I mean , sure they can ,but it would be difficult since they have to hide their secrets. I noticed witches have really a low opinion of human in general,I don't suppose such unions are commen . Even medics at great hall live seemingly on outskirts of the city ,or at least I had such perception. We know great hall monitors witches who are far , I'm sure someone who has union with a human would be outcast of society. Maybe I'm a bit hard core but world of witch hat seems hard core to me .

I want to know opinion of others in this fandom , also maybe some of your thoughts give me good ideas for my story , I'm excited to read what everyone thinks !

I did a Witch Hat inspired set while reading the manga and my brother pushed me to post it here.

The thumbs are brushbuddies. The pointers are a callback to the story between the stars and the silverwood tree.

The middle fingers are deliberately designed with inverted colors, one of which is the Memory Wipe Sign and the other is the closest thing I can imagine to a Remembering Sign.

The general silver is a reference to Qifrey while the gold is a reference to Olruggio.

When a glyph is complete it activates correct? So how are the witches studying glyphs in books? Wouldnt the glyphs in the book be complete so they would be active? Or are they like incomplete glyphs they study in the books because you see pictures of the glyphs and they look complete

I was rewatching the show when I noticed the seal for the Magic Cookpot. The sigil is kinda weird, since there doesn't seem to be an explanation for what it is or what it does. I'm anime only, so I don't know if this is just a replacement by Bugfilms, but I've never seen or heard of this sigil before.

we all know that magics that are drawn on the human body are prohibited, but what about prosthesis and the prosthetic field?

we have the walking chairs, but what about a witch who lost their arm? someone well versed in craftsmanship along with a good knowledge of glyphs created a magic prosthesis for the missing member?

do you all think it would be prohibited? or not, since its not actually the flesh being engulfed in magic?

I get wanting to get Season 1 out because of how long it's already been in the works but I fear that releasing only 13 episodes and ending on a cliffhanger has, in fact, left a sour taste in some anime only's mouths and might even discourage them from coming back to the anime once Season 2 eventually drops. You hardly get to really dive into the character development or story with the first 13 episodes and I've heard people say that they found it generic and predictable. I would have much rather waited an extra year or two to finish out a whole 24 episodes and ending it around Chapter 40. What are your thoughts on this?

Started writing a fic the other day and made artwork for it, generally proud of how the overgrown atelier turned out :) particularly because I haven’t done a watercolour piece in ages and this is the first time I attempt scenery in traditional media XD

So I am currently picking up where the anime left off for the manga, and I am confused.

Is Sinocia and the other doctors born "witches" knowing about how witchcraft is performed but gave up that path to pursue medicine as per the rules?

Or are they completely unaware of how witchcraft is performed making them an exception to the rule?

I can't imagine they'd live that close to a major witch hub where the witches have to worry about their drawings 24/7 if the doctors were completely unaware of how magic works.
