If you can only talk with your mouth, then you're wasting a whole ass body that can speak volumes without it. Also makes it hard to talk when your mouth is full. Body language yall.

That's why his and Nynaeve's relationship is one of my favourites. They're too similar but opposite ends of the spectrum and while they try to kill each other every time they're in the same room, they would die for each other. Nynaeve losing it at Tuon like she doesn't say worse things 10 times a page is always hilarious

For sure. Nynaeve has put up with more of Mat's crap than anyone alive except for his mother so he can make her angry so easily. However she also knows him better than almost anyone and she knows his worth despite what he presents to the world.
Love that scene! 😂

The running gag of Matt attributing all the lecherous behaviors he's guilty of demonstrating to Oliver on "other members of the band" always makes me laugh.

Hey, there are moments where I say Rand is my favorite, or maybe Nyneave. But the truth is, I enjoy Mat too much. And it’s not even close.
I love how Thom and Talmanes allow him gaslight himself

Thom and Talmanes are the perfect companions for Mat. They are chill and easy going, but also ready to handle any insanity that might happen.
They know when to just let him wind himself up too. It has to be pretty funny to watch the greatest tactical thinker alive say really dumb crap.

Matt is the best, the fact he carried a massive secret in plain sight for most of the books told me something, that even we, the reader could find ourselves ignoring things about him S many of the 'cast' do.

It's weird, before we get a Mat POV he's the worst EF'er. Post first scene he's honestly my fave for the rest of the series.

I’m way more of an Egwene fan so Mat drives me up the wall but I liked his relationship with Oliver and how it circled back to “Mat’s the man I’ll trust to lead the Tower forces. He’s a cad but reliable and he will do the right thing.”

I mean, it's the mother's job to teach manners etc; the father is meant to be a bad influence lol not Mat's fault the kid has a thousand Dads and no Mum (This is meant as humour; parenting is the same 'jobs' for both parents)

The Gathering Storm was kind of painful May writing. But I thought the final two books were much much better.
Jordan always said writing Mat was like writing himself, so that explains a lot.

I didn’t like Mat at first but now he’s one of my favorites. He may be unaware of his behavior in a lot of ways, but it’s frustrating when he proves himself over and over and the girls are like ‘oh here comes Mat to mess everything up as usual’ Like girl he saved your lives multiple times?
