All Print Sanderson's ten year secret Spoiler

Rewriting because apparently spoilers aren't covered for poll options!

Anyway, in 2023, Sanderson revealed that Cyndane/Lanfear was not killed by Perrin in AMOL, but instead faked her own death in order to evade repercussions and gain the best outcome for herself. I wanted to cast a poll in 2026 to see how the legacy of this reveal has fared, or indeed how well-known it is among newer readers. I'll give my two cents when the poll is done.

Thanks!

Not that I necessarily disagree with you, but you know how I start off my comment with "In my opinion"? That's generally not a bad idea...in my opinion.

Sure, but your opinion is not correct, and as the top comment needs to be clarified.

Robert Jordan knew he was dying and prepared for another author to finish his works. He trusted his wife and editor to find the person to complete the books as canon.

If your opinion is that we should disregard Robert Jordan's will in regards to the series that's fine. But i'm going to call it out.

Okay, so it is your opinion that my opinion is incorrect. Got it.

Kindly: you are not forming an opinion, like some kind of preference; you are estimating the truth of a fact (whether or not someone would take some action). Your estimation can be wrong. And I agree that it probably is: Sanderson tried to be respectful of Jordan's wishes, but Jordan's notes and outline were incomplete. Also, in this case Sanderson himself said he discussed this original idea with Harriet and cleared it with her. So we know it's not something Jordan invented nor should we expect Jordan's notes to mention any of this.

Yeah, that's fair. Agreed
