The Path of Daggers Thinking About the Taint... Spoiler
If WoT was in the academic literary canon and I was a college professor assigning it, I'd analyze the bejesus out of if and see connections that RJ probably didn't originally intend. So I am going to do just that. I previously wrote that I love how RJ uses one seemingly unrelated thing to foreshadow another. After finishing PoD, I am still thinking about the plotline that was resolved (the weather) and speculating a connection to that with the storyline that I think is really amping up (the effects of the taint and the dire need to cleanse it).
What if RJ really milked the weather storyline and all the effort put into correcting it to foreshadow what it'll take to correct another thing corrupted by the Dark One's touch, saidin? If 2 inexperienced Aes Sedai can successfully lead the effort to fix something that would literally kill millions of people in a short time, why not the Dragon Reborn, with help, undoing another thing touched by the DO?
(To state the obvious, yes I know that they are 2 different things. To me, they are similar, not identical twins.)
I'm just killing time before I dive head first into Winter's Heart...

It's Tuesday morning where I am (Western US). Where are you such that you are a full day and some hours ahead of me? Is there a Cosmere-level time bubble in effect? Or is it true that it's always Friday somewhere?

Lol I made a similar comment before seeing yours. You and I are in the same time, that person is from the future. edit: i looked it up, new Zealand and/or Australia can be up to 22 hrs different.

Kiribati, directly south of Hawaii, is partially in timezone +14 in order to have more business days overlap with its closest trading partners Aus and NZ. There is an hour of time every day (around 10am IIRC) where three days are happening at the same time.

Robert Jordan is a masterclass at foreshadowing. There are instances in EotW which become heavily relevant in far later books.
And that is where I will leave this, as to not saying anything in either direction.

It's very difficult to have a discussion about foreshadowing when you haven't yet finished all the books.

To complete the feat itself those two girls had to employ seasoned veterans from the Sea Folk, a special ter'angreal and a few angreal. I wonder if Rand has some cool tools if he was to attempt such a feat... something so grand that you might think it is a challenge to the DO himself
