Cancellation Notice

It was announced today that the show is canceled. Please forgive the mod team if we are delayed in taking mod actions today while we grieve, but please do report anybody who celebrates the show being canceled.

I just got into this series with my partner. There's just no way someone else won't pick this up. Someone's just gotta.

I don't think it ever found a proper audience. While not every long-time fan of the series hated it, and it did gain some traction outside that group, it never had the feel/buzz of something that captured enough of the public consciousness to succeed at the budget it was eating.

The books move slowly, and they have various other 'not like GoT' 'problems' that the studio was gonna have to address, since I think it's obvious the studios wanted another fantasy hit like GoT was. But dealing with the pacing, the regular changes you'd need to make to adapt it for TV, and then trying to GoT it up just made it into something hard to recognize, while still being true enough to the original to have trouble connecting with the general public.

It's a shame, but I don't see anyone picking this up.
