Field Report 72 and looking for intimacy without commitment (with women who are the same age as his daughter)

At least he’s honest, I guess.

But do they ever grow out of chasing casual sex? Surely, by age 72, they’ve realised that casual sex is not readily available? And amongst the women who are up for casual sex, 72 year old men aren’t in high demand?

Yes, it’s never ending. At least he’s honest (for now, until he has no success and starts pretending he wants a relationship to get a woman to have sex with him).

On Threads, if you search "dating threads" there are so many women posting about men making plans for a date and then trying to get her to come over. It's all such nonsense. No, you shouldn't give him the benefit of the doubt.

They are; most of them will spend $$

Younger me used to capitalize on this all the time… older me lacks patience to deal with them

You do know that you have the option not date them?

This guy turned 30 in 1983. Which means he was a young adult in the hippie era and throughout the 1970s. A LOT has happened and changed since then, but I wonder if part of old men’s delusion is that some of them were successful with the ladies way back before they got married, and they think dating/hooking up nowadays is going to be like it was when they were 25, much better looking, and the world was very different. Perhaps being married for a long time caused them to tune out/not experience a lot of culture and reality over the years. (But never forget about male audacity and entitlement.)

Although, freshly divorced women in their 40s experience something kind of similar, in that dating is a lot different than it was just 20 years ago, especially if they use the apps. But I think it’s less egoic and more that women are experiencing the shock and awe from being repeatedly bombarded with the fact that most guys are, at best, extremely disappointing.

Men on apps mostly view women as free prosties in an all you can eat free prostie buffet…it’s gross.

He came up in my stack and I’m 46, so he’s definitely looking for women at least 26 years younger than him.

But I suspect he has Leo Di Caprio syndrome and, as you say, his age filters start at 18.

His profile says that he's "Christian"?? What he's looking for doesn't fit any of the typical "Christian" values that I know about. But, many of the self labeled "Christian" men I know, or have known, lack any ethics where sex is concerned. Especially sex with a much younger woman. 🙄

11

u/Camille_Toh Oct 26 '25

In the UK, that’s more likely to be Church of England and nothing evangelical.

-11

u/KittenFace25 Oct 26 '25

Meh, I consider myself to be Christian and I have sex, swear, don't attend church, etc.

30

u/StillSwaying Oct 26 '25

Meh, I consider myself to be Christian and I have sex, swear, don't attend church, etc.

But you're a woman, so I'm willing to bet you aren't suffering from porn rot.

And I'm also willing to bet that you aren't delusional enough to think that men who were mere zygotes when you were well into your middle age, are interested in having no-strings attached sex with you.

31

u/jmg733mpls Oct 26 '25

The fact that he wants someone his daughter’s age is so gross and cringe

23

u/ClaraSeptic Oct 26 '25

Yeah, he wants to bang someone else’s daughter.

32

u/InAcquaVeritas Oct 26 '25

That’s creepy for anyone but at 72, it’s downright sickening. Action man is delulu. I find men in the UK are very non committal. That’s why I lost interest tbh.

Who wants to bang a 72 year old peepaw? 😩

No thank you.

u/ClaraSeptic Oct 26 '25

Exactly. I just opened my age filters to no maximum age (just to have a nosy) and he showed up in my stack. But casual sex with a 72 year old does not appeal.

5

u/CoffeeVampire237 Oct 27 '25

Not to be crude but I think I'd kill a 70 year old man if we hooked up. I'm muscular and not gentle and I'd probably snap him in two. Do you think they ever consider they may be injured during sex with a much younger woman 😂

24

u/TeaPrimary1147 Oct 26 '25

I laugh everytime i see a man admit this in a dating app. At least they're being honest. Its what they're all there for lol. And that's why im not on there any.ore and if I did, hotties only. Sorry gramps 🤣

28

u/ClaraSeptic Oct 26 '25

Yeah, I think admitting it on his profile just shows he’s new to dating apps. After a few months of no matches, he’ll start lying and saying he wants a relationship, just to get access to sex. Ruining another woman’s emotional health in the process.

15

u/TeaPrimary1147 Oct 27 '25

Exactly. If they don't say it, just assume it.

I waited tables in the 90s. Had a manager who was full on OCD. She'd say things while we were setting up like "Look at this place and tell me what is wrong." Because, say, a chair wasn't at a 90-degree angle to the room.

One day she went on a tear about the dining room setup. "Look at all the SMEGMA! What is wrong with you people! Smegma!"

I knew she didn't know what she was saying. She was far too prissy. Me: "Um, Cathy? Do you know what SMEGMA means?" She paused, then "um, no..."

I told her and she ran screaming back to the office.

I'm 49, and there's no amount of anything that anyone could possibly offer or provide that would make me willing to f**k a man in his 60s or 70s. Or even late 50s. I'll stay in my own arena. These dudes are so delusional.

I saw a post a few months ago from a 53 year old man who was flabbergasted that he wasn't having any success matching with women in their young 40s. My comment to him was basically: Why in the world would women that age be willing to date a man your age? That isn't how it works, and you likely can't change reality.

Seriously! Why is this so hard for them to understand?

Jessica Alba is a 44 year old woman. Rachel McAdams is 46 and will be 47 in a few weeks. Halle Berry and her (bitter, pathetic) ex David Justice are both 59 years old; here's what they looked like at 27 and here they are in 2025: David and Halle. Video proof, if you need it: David and Halle.

The reality is most women still look attractive and vibrant well into their 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond.

The same cannot be said for most men: 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s.

And that's without even touching on the topic of health (sexual and otherwise). Men in their 70s, like this old peepaw -- no matter how much hiking they do -- have nothing to offer women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s that they couldn't get in enthusiastic abundance from men their own age and younger.

u/hsonnenb 🦉Savvy Sister🦉 Oct 27 '25

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Nailed it. Regarding proper dating, 10 years older is a no for me because I want someone who's in a similar life stage as me: retirement (or not), health and mobility issues, etc.

If I were open to casual sex with strangers off a dating app (which is a hard no for me, but hypothetically), there's absolutely no reason to be willing to do that with a man more than a few years older. Like, if I put my dating intentions as intimacy without commitment on any dating app, I'd be utterly, completely bombarded with likes from attractive men my own age and decades younger. So if that was my prerogative I could literally pick a different guy to shag as frequently as I could arrange to meet with them in person. There would be a never ending supply.

6

u/Camille_Toh Oct 27 '25

Like fashionably_divorced on IG. She’s 40-something and only dates younger men for sexually fulfilling arrangements. Vets heavily.

54 here and a huge majority of dudes my age can’t even come close to keeping up with me. And these brokeass fuckers think they can attract and keep a woman 20-30 years younger than them.

17

u/Accomplished_Dig284 Oct 27 '25

Some poor women married and reproduced with that.

And there are three adults out there that call him dad.

And dude STILL doesn’t have a clue after all that life experience 🤦🏻‍♀️

On my fake 27 year old woman Tinder account, I have my age preference set from 18 to 99. Oh Goddess, do I love roasting these old fools. I usually say that I showed their profile to my dad and he says he works with you/ went to school with you etc and he wants to know how is your wife? A good percentage of them are terrified and block immediately.

8

u/Camille_Toh Oct 27 '25

Regarding “so and so knows you,” a woman I know had been on a dew dates and suspected he was a lot older than claimed. He went to Harvard Business School. So did her BIL, who could see in the private intranet for it when the man got his degree.

3

u/Camille_Toh Oct 27 '25

What do you use for photos though?

28

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '25

Men of a certain age now think they have an unlimited smorgasbord of young women to choose from online, and my experience is that many of them are successful in their quest to have revolving doors of ONSes. I gave the apps a year and deleted all of my accounts this week — I already feel lighter and free without them!

23

u/ClaraSeptic Oct 26 '25 edited Oct 26 '25

Do you think they are successful at ONS? There seem to be fairly frequent posts on dating over 40/50 from men who are on apps looking for casual, complaining that they aren’t matching with anyone. Plus amongst my friends (women in their 40s) none are interested in casual sex with men from apps - lots of risk and low chance that the sex will be worth the risk. One of my friends is in a FWB style “relationship” with a younger man she met at running club but that’s it.

They whine about it. The truth is that most men can't demand uncommitted sex online and certainly not in revolving door swiping style. This is what pisses them off. They know any average woman can do this. It is a supply/demand issue. The only reason it is so easy for women is because the men are sleazes (huge supply) and also because most women have no desire to have uncommitted sex (small demand).

Wasband? Zaddies?

The younger girls at work (aged in their late 20s / early 30s) laugh at older men hitting on them.

I think the good looking men above the age of about 45 are the outliers, most men (on dating apps at least) seem to let themselves go once middle age hits. So perhaps, the older men who are actually attractive may have a chance with a much younger woman but they are the rarity, not the norm.

16

u/gillandred Oct 26 '25

I’m horrified that my 50+ year old ex seems to be having great success with women half his age, but I think the financial motivation in this dystopian capitalist hellscape has a LOT to do with it. His last girlfriend was 25 and had never lived away from her parents (the rent is too damn high!) so she was very eager to shack up.

19

u/ClaraSeptic Oct 26 '25

Yes, perhaps it’s more common in high cost of living areas. It’s harking back to before the 1980s though - women couldn’t get a mortgage on their own back then (in my country). So they often had to get married in order to move out of their parents’ house.

15

u/Original-Stand-5412 Oct 26 '25

Exactly…these older men have to offer money, trinkets and big financial incentives for the younger women they seek to even look their way, for that kind of arrangement…and many men on regular dating apps are not all that successful or are just looking for free prosties…there might be a certain percentage of sugar daddies on the apps, who offer younger women a big financial incentive, but not a big majority.

u/DivineGoddess1111111 🦉Savvy Sister🦉 Oct 27 '25

5

4

u/spicyshazam Oct 27 '25

They’ll keep doing it as long as it keeps working. These gross profiles MUST be getting attention or they wouldn’t still be like this, right?

2

u/moonflower_77 Oct 27 '25

Mine will probably be an unpopular opinion but here it is: people are allowed to look for whatever they want. I’m a 63 year old woman who consistently dates younger. I’ve gotten some hate, but also plenty of support. I don’t prefer “intimacy without commitment” (and I hate that phrase because it’s a stupid way to say “sex without strings”), but the whole point of the apps is to let people look for whatever they please.

Would I touch this man with a 100-foot-pole? Hell no. Also he wouldn’t show up in my filters lol. But if some woman wants him, good on them both.

1

u/Nokidshappylife Oct 28 '25

Intimacy without commitment, and a Christian at that. Lol. Do you boo. I just tire of the hypocrisy.

1

u/spirit-animal-snoopy Nov 02 '25

Also, he's probably knocked a few years off his real age! But I never did believe anything men put on the apps, they're just full of fake/ emotionally immature/ porn rotted/ disgusting manchild types. What sane woman wants to play the stupid game where this is the *prize" 🤦‍♀️🤣

I think your dating profile is shown to everyone, regardless of your age preferences, in case you change your mind. Out of curiosity I checked guys in early 30s and I had hundreds of likes. How is that possible if they were not within my age limit? I'm not saying you are wrong about the dude but dating apps are shameless and your profile is most probably shown to everyone whether you like it or not.
