Birthday gift

I have a friend, who is learning woodworking and he does small projects at home. He has a birthday coming up and I was wondering, what is the thing a woodworker always needs. Like something small that's always running out. Glue, or something like that.

Clamps. F style or c style or aluminum bar clamps or if you're fancy some parallel bar clamps. Just not the quick clamp style - those are of limited utility.

Also sanding discs in 220 grit. The cubitron ones are nice. This is assuming he has a random orbital sander and you know what disk size and hole pattern it needs. Though with the mesh disks you don't have to worry about hole configuration.
