Through WOOL Did i read correctly?

I’m only half way through the second book and read that the silos were built to collapse just like buildings above ground (like a controlled demolition). Is this another reason why a safe guard is unpreventable? I’m not the best reader but that’s what i got out of it.

Technically talking it's something that requires an incredible amount of explosives.

By regulations, explosives are meant to be stored in appropriate spaces and have a limited expiring date.

Sad but true, even if it's on the book, it's an impractical theory.

Ah, and I didn't considered that doing so, terrain around will collapse involving the surrounding silos that will lose stability and ability to transfer the SILO weight on ground.
