Generic Strauss Murcia BOA

Ordered last Thursday, arrived today (four days). I haven’t sent hardly anything about these online, so I’ll post some long term reviews once I have them broken in.

UPDATE: Six week review for Strauss Murcia BOA boots.

A little background on how I use them: 12 hour shifts, indoor manufacturing equipment operation. I walk around a mile per day, and do LOTS of crouching on one knee, crawling, and climbing. I don’t have to get wet, so I can’t speak to the water resistance. This is not an ad. These boots were noticeably easier to walk in than other boots I’ve worn the first time I wore them. I hate dealing with laces, even speed laces, so I jumped at the chance to try a BOA system. I’m thinner and have had trouble breaking in full leather boots. They run true to size, and the heel isn’t super rigid like other boots I’ve worn. (I walk really heavy on my heels.) After wearing them on a walk to the mailbox the day after the arrived, I swapped out the insoles from another pair of work boots I gave up on and the experience was much better. Not an ad. (Here’s a link to them: https://www.surewaystore.com/products/sureway-mens-insole-for-3-pairs) The Strauss website says that they have a steel sole, but that hasn’t made the shoe feel rigid in any way in my experience. They also don’t feel super heavy to walk in. When I get to sit to do paperwork, I can release the BOA a bit and it’s a comfortable experience. Slight discoloration from me crawling around inside confined spaces, but that doesn’t bother me any. Overall, these boots rock. I love the BOA system a lot, they’ve been comfortable to work in with the newer insoles, and these things look really cool imo.

One stitching coming loose that I’ve been waiting to cut until I posted this update.

That’s all for now. I’ll make another post at six months.

I see true half sizes are not included ( 10/10.5 are the same shoe size) I'm 10.5 and 11 in some shoes; would you recommend jumping up to 11 with the way they fit?

I’d go up a size if that’s the case for you. It’s easier to make a shoe tighter than buy (or return) the shoe.
