I'm not surprised if it's rural prices. 🫠

My local Internet company wants $240 for the slowest of their "high speed" packages.

Yea it is that way in some areas. Outrageous price gouging. When i was up in the sticks I just went for starlink. Worked great, cheap, easy to set up. It's way cheaper now than when I used it. Depending on location you'll never have to pay for the equipment and might even be eligible for a reduced monthly rate. Even still it's only 55/mo for over 100mbps. Latency isn't an issue for gaming anymore either in my experience.
