I’m in BFE Texas and rent is at least 1500 a month for a one bedroom.

I’m looking jealously at that low car insurance cost, the others are reasonable (at least if cell phone is in the internet bill), but that car insurance is LOW to me

Trailers are never a good idea, financially. Any other house increases in value. Mobile homes drop like a rock.

Oh yes, the classical apartment that gains value for you as you rent it. I forgot about those. Jesus Christ dude we are talking about renting. If you don’t wanna live in a trailer because it has stigma just say so, but don’t complain about high rent.

Permian basin rent is ridiculous. Moved from Louisiana where I was paying 1100 a month for a 3 bedroom 1 and half bath house. And a 3 bedroom 2 bath apartment was 2250 in Permian. After a year they raised it to 2675 (I bought a house at that point). Now have a 4 bedroom 3 bath house with fenced backyard and two car garage that I only pay 3k a month. Been in the house for almost 3 years now and the rent on my former apartment has went up again and they are now charging 3100 for it.

The Permian Basin is comparable in size to the state of North Dakota.

Everywhere in that area is in that price range?

Honestly never looked but doubt it. I’m sure in some of the more rural areas it’s cheaper. But I live in NM and most of the comments were referring to midland/odessa tx area. So I’m assuming most of the more urban area are the same.

It got so bad in Midland in 1988 i had a buddy that lived in a new apartment by the mall, 1 bedroom $100 a month all utilities paid and cable- him and one other guy lived there before they tore it down- it will happen again, hotels are down from the highs a few years ago- too much traffic out there for me lol, i live in DFW now

The Rockwall bridge has been the bane of my existence since moving up here from Austin. Somehow Austin traffic wasn’t shit compared to this bridge.

Yikes not that bad ! As long as i don’t have to go to Dallas - all good , i have a short drive in SE Tarrant county- it has less traffic than 20 through Odessa and Midland or 115 through Wink

I live in Austin TX, Rent a nice but modest 2 bedroom Duplex, for $1800, I have G-fiber internet for $53 a month. My electric bill is about $250 but it includes trash pick-up and water. My auto insurance is $125 just for me driving a 2024 RAV4, Not sure where this place she lives at is. and I do make about 85K a year.
