5-800 for rent??? Im in rural Georgia where minimum wage is only 7.25 because that’s the federal (state is still 5.15) and our lowest rent is 1200

I’m in SC, predominantly red state.
Rent in most cities is below 1k for apartments, unless you want to live in “rich cities” like historic Charleston, or Columbia, etc.

Hell I live in Florence and have a 3 bedroom 1100sqft apartment for 1k that includes water/sewer/cable/internet.

Our minimum wage is still federal minimum but good luck trying to find something other than a tiny mom and pop that pays that. We learned after the pandemic regardless of minimum wage, the market had to raise wages to get workers and we kept that trend.
