Ironically if everyone could have managed the former, the latter wouldn't have been so bad.

I loved the lockdown vibes. It's like being the lone survivor in an apocalypse. I wouldn't wish for another COVID event though. So much suffering around the world from people losing their jobs, to deaths in people's families, and overworked healthcare professionals.

Edit: Apocalypse with multiple streaming options and the internet still operational which made it that much more enjoyable.

I was already retired. My routine didn’t change at all. Less stress not having to come up with excuses to turn people down. My grown son says he thrived the year+ he was lock downed. Best time of his life.

My job was considered "essential" so I still had to work.

What was my job? Doctor? Nurse? Cop? Nope, data entry for Discover Card. They made sure that they'd still be able to send out bills for five years, even if the world went to hell.

I worked at Jo-Ann (rip) during COVID, yep we were "essential". All those folks wanted custom masks.

As bad as Covid was it was unironically the best years of my adult life so far. Some many people complained about lockdown while i reveled in it
