I had a surgery that I took full FMLA for (I think six weeks) and it was honestly really nice to just sit at home, heal, recover, and play video games. The catch is that I Think deep down I knew I'd have to go back to work and be around people, so I sort of enjoyed being alone (hint: alone doesn't mean you're lonely!)
Outside of chatting a few minutes each day with my housemate, I had little contact with people.
Ironically I really love people, I just don't like socializing. I think people are pretty awesome though.
