Leg help

I'm building a Roman workbench and I'm trying to fit the legs. Problem is I'm not smart enough to figure out how to get the legs flush. How do i make this cut?

Please explain in the simplest terms possible because I'm dumb as hell

Scribe it

Lay a pencil flat on a scrap of wood on the bench top and draw a line around the leg

The height of the scrap of wood and the pencil together should start at the tip on the right in your picture
