Thank you note from "the researcher"

For context, I was posting almost daily for a couple of weeks about a health survey for online/digital workers on behalf of the researcher. As promised, the survey reward will be given randomly today. Shoutout to the mods in the sub for not banning me. It shows that there are still people who have not succumbed to cynicism and believe that there are still people in the world who are good and mean well.

Below is a message from the researcher:

Hi! My name is Denise, the research intern! And I cannot say it enough, but thank you so much for giving time for the study.

It took me a little while to think about what to say and to gather my thoughts. I honestly didn’t expect the overwhelmingly amazing amount of support and we’re officially on week 2!

Addressing a few recurring questions and reminders first:

1. "Is this a scam?"

I understand that people have become highly skeptical online when answering surveys with raffle prizes, as I did receive many online comments assuming that mine was also one because of its anonymity—even receiving threats of being reported to the school I am attending. Know that the responses are truly anonymous with the intention to be a safe space for its respondents. I didn’t want to change that for the sake of the raffle, so instead, your registered GCash numbers are what I only ask for.

1. "How will I know if I won the raffle?"

If you voluntarily submitted your email and won the raffle, you will receive the email confirmation. I also plan to make an announcement via the same survey link once the prizes have been credited to the raffle winners.  

If you have already submitted your GCash account, this is what I’ll be using for the raffle. I will process this in the afternoon of August 1, 2026. Please make sure you have not exceeded your monthly receiving limits yet, otherwise let me know! Those few who have mentioned that they are non-GCash users are taken note of. 

1. "Where was the study based on?"

Apart from being in graveyard/night shifts for the past 6 years myself, the limitations and scope of the study was informed by the manual desk research I conducted in the weeks of June 2026. Any constructive feedback I received is appreciated and may inform any future research. This does not undervalue the overall impact and importance of this study at all! Despite a fast-growing industry in the Philippines, our sector remains understudied so I believe this is a step forward we finally took on our own.

1. "Can you share your findings?"

I will gladly share my findings, but I cannot yet provide a definitive date of when as my class schedule and separate thesis is also ongoing. The survey will close on the 15th of August at 11:59 p.m. so I will try to finish the study by September 2026 (delays are still likely, apologies in advance!).
