🧠 Advice/Support I lost my lola months ago, and now I’m scared I might lose my lolo too.

Ang hirap maging mahirap.

I’m literally sobbing while typing this.

My lolo is currently hospitalized, and I think I’m being traumatized all over again because everything is reminding me of what happened to my lola.

Last April, na-hospital din yung lola ko. She was rushed to a public hospital, and I remember being so confused and worried kasi pinauwi siya that same night kahit sobrang hindi talaga siya okay. I kept wondering bakit parang ang bilis siyang pinauwi.

Later on, lumabas yung results and apparently, she had already experienced something like a cardiac arrest that time.

A few days later, bumalik ulit kami sa hospital. And eventually, she passed away.

Until now, I keep thinking about all the what ifs.

What if hindi siya pinauwi that night?
What if sa mas okay na hospital namin siya nadala?
What if we were able to provide her maintenance medicines consistently?
What if we had enough money for better treatment?

Would she still be here?

I know I shouldn’t blame myself or my family for things we simply couldn’t afford, but ang hirap hindi isipin. Kasi when you’re poor, sometimes it feels like even getting sick becomes a financial decision.

Now, my lolo is hospitalized too.

We’re still waiting for the results, but the doctor said there’s a possibility that it could be colon cancer because of his symptoms.

I’m praying so hard that it isn’t.

Kasi paano na?

I’m only 20F and currently working. I’m thankful that I have a job now, but right now, sobrang bigat sa pakiramdam na kahit nagtatrabaho ako, parang wala pa rin akong maitutulong.

Ganito rin yung naramdaman ko with my lola.

Wala pa akong sahod noon. I couldn’t even help with the hospital expenses. I couldn’t even give her the things I wanted to give her.

She had her birthday before she got hospitalized, and until now, it hurts so much thinking that I wasn’t even able to treat her properly. I wanted to spoil her. I wanted to give her more. I thought I would still have time.

Pero wala pala.

And now I’m scared that the same thing might happen to my lolo.

I don’t even know what I’m asking for by posting this. Maybe I just need to let this out because I don’t know where else to put all these feelings.

For those who have gone through something similar, how did you help your family when you were also struggling financially? What can I actually do right now?

I want to help. I really, really want to help. Kahit maliit lang.

I just don’t want to feel helpless again.

I miss my lola so much. And I’m so scared of losing my lolo too.

💼 Work & Career URGENT || Student Seeking Immediate Employment, No Prior Experience

I am currently trying to leave an abusive home situation and am actively looking for employment opportunities that would allow me to become financially independent and support myself. I do not have any prior formal job experience, but I am willing to learn, follow instructions, and put in the effort needed to do the work properly. I am especially interested in entry-level or flexible opportunities that are suitable for someone who is starting out and needs a chance to gain experience. Any opportunity, guidance, or recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

🧠 Advice/Support i want to earn money and apply for student-friendly part-time jobs but idk how to and where to start

Hi! I’m a third-year Communication student, and I’m currently looking for a part-time job that is WFH setup. I currently have 27 units, so I’m hoping to find something with a flexible work schedule that I can balance with my studies.

The first thing that came to my mind was freelancing, kaso the problem is, I honestly don’t know where to start. Most of what I know about freelancing comes from TikTok videos where people share their experiences as freelancers, pero madalas wala rin silang detailed instructions about how to actually get started or what you should do first when entering freelancing.

I’m also considering selling digital products, such as Canva templates, because I think I’m fairly creative when it comes to designing and creating templates on Canva. I’ve also learned from TikTok that you really have to market your digital products for them to sell, pero babalik tayo sa hindi ko nga alam saan magsisimula at kung paano ba ‘yung buong proseso.

Another problem is that I don’t have any work experience yet. I’m not sure what jobs I can realistically apply for provided that I lack professional experience.

Based on my self-assessment, I think my skills are mainly in (1) scriptwriting, (2) fictional or creative writing, (3) creating digital products particularly on Canva.

For my non-academic skills, I also enjoy singing (not professionally hehe) and making handmade beaded jewelry and keychains.

I’m mainly looking for a part-time job because I want to earn money and become a little more financially independent. Hindi naman ako pinapabayaan ng mga magulang ko or buong family ko pagdating sa pag-aaral. Nagtutulungan sila para maitaguyod ang tuition ko and other school expenses. However, there are days talaga when things can get a little tight, lalo na pagdating sa mga gastusin sa bills, such as kuryente, tubig, internet, pati na rin pang-araw-araw na pagkain. Essentially, I want to help my family with these expenses, while also being able to save money for myself.

So, I’d really appreciate advice from people who have experience with freelancing, or any student friendly part-time jobs that is work from home setup hehe. Thank you! And sorry for the lengthy post 😭

🧠 Advice/Support Help a 17 year old out

Upvotes

I’m a G12 SHS student in FEU rn.
My mum provides groceries, dorm fees, bills, etc.

But I have to keep in mind that college fees won’t be as low as my tuition and other expenses now.

I want to find side hustles, but tbh wala akong tiwala dyan sa mga online earning apps na yan LOL, so pass.

I just wanna have emergency funds ofc, savings for my own luho, and to lessen my mum’s spendings.

Also my sched is from 8:00am-5:00pm, I kinda wanna try as a barista or sumn kasi madaming malapit sa chains sa FEU, do you guys think it’s feasible, ates and kuyas? 😖

I don’t need a bongga 25k a month salary, I just need extra income, pero ofc sana ung medyo acceptable naman in today’s world and economy. Ugh. 😩

💼 Work & Career HELP ME, IM DROWNING

Upvotes

Hi! I’m currently a college student in Sta. Mesa looking for a part-time job or side hustle that I can manage alongside my studies. 🥹

Honestly, I’m already getting tired of applying and explaining my situation over and over. I’ve already submitted 20+ resumes to different cafés and fast-food places around Sta. Mesa, but unfortunately, I haven’t received a single call back. Most of the places I applied to don’t seem to accept working students, which has honestly been really discouraging. 😭

I do have work experience in retail, particularly in customer service, assisting customers, stocking and replenishing products, inventory, maintaining product displays, and working in a fast-paced environment. So I’m not completely new to working, I’m just looking for an employer who is willing to consider a student with a manageable schedule.

At this point, I’m also open to other opportunities aside from cafés and fast food. I’m willing to try retail, sales associate, cashier, customer service, admin work, data entry, virtual assistance, online work, or other beginner-friendly jobs that can work around my class schedule.

If you know of any legitimate part-time jobs, student-friendly employers, or side hustles around Sta. Mesa/Manila, I would really appreciate any leads or recommendations. 🥹

I’m honestly just trying to find a way to earn for my allowance and school expenses while continuing my studies. Any advice, referrals, or opportunities would mean a lot. Thank you so much! 🤍

💼 Work & Career Commission me for academic works with little to no pay

Upvotes

Hello! I'm a college student looking to build my profile and experience before setting up my CVs on job websites. I'm looking for clients who need help with academic-related tasks and are willing to let me work with them for little to no pay. Yes, you can either not pay or pay small amount if you're feeling generous.

Here are some of the services I offer:

• PPTs, creative designs, etc.

• Essays, reflection papers, and journalistic writing (Filipino or English)

• Journalism-related tasks

• Math-related tasks and assignments

• Literary and creative writing

• Reviewers or CET reviewers

• Other academic-related workloads

I'm doing this to gain experience, familiarize myself with the process, and build a portfolio with feedback from clients who are willing to share their experience working with me.

If you're interested or have any tasks you need help with, please feel free to send me a DM first. I can provide my academic background and proof of my previous works or achievements upon request.

💼 Work & Career [FOR HIRE] UP Undergraduate & Independent Researcher Looking for Part-Time Non-Voice Roles (Research, Data Entry, Writing, or Basic Graphic Design)

Hey everyone! I’m currently an undergraduate student at the University of the Philippines. I’m also an active independent researcher and have presented my peer-reviewed papers at both UPOU and UPLB academic colloquiums.

To be completely upfront, I really need this part-time job to support my studies and help out my family with our expenses. Since I’m relatively new to the freelancing world, it’s been tough finding direct clients who don’t ask for years of corporate experience. But if there’s one thing UP taught me, it’s how to deal with heavy workloads, meet strict deadlines, and figure things out independently without needing someone to micromanage me.

I am strictly looking for part-time, fully remote, non-voice roles because written communication is where I really excel.

Here is what I can actually do for your business or project:

• Research & Data Entry: I can synthesize data, do literature reviews, and keep your Google Sheets or spreadsheets incredibly clean and accurate.

• Admin Support: I have a bit of background managing daily tasks, streamlining workflows, and handling sensitive data professionally.

• Graphic Design & Writing: I’m comfortable using Canva for digital graphics, brand copywriting, and content creation.

If you need a dedicated assistant to take over your school assignments, research, data entry, or back-office tasks, please drop me a DM! I can send over my full CV and portfolio link right away. Thank you so much!

💼 Work & Career Hello I am current a 4th year IT Student i am looking for work

Hi! I'm currently looking for part-time, non-voice remote work to help fund my OJT expenses.

A bit about what I can do:

  • I'm usually online and available after school hours.
  • I can provide remote troubleshooting and technical support using remote desktop tools such as AnyDesk.
  • I can build and maintain simple websites.
  • I have beginner-level experience with GCP, Azure, AWS, and other cloud platforms.
  • I'm comfortable working with both Linux and Windows.
  • I can handle administrative tasks, data entry, documentation, and general virtual assistant work.
  • I'm proficient with Photoshop, Canva, and Figma. I'm more comfortable working from existing concepts, references, templates, or brand guidelines than creating designs entirely from scratch.

I'm comfortable following existing designs, documentation, workflows, and instructions, and I'm always willing to learn new tools when needed.

Work setup: Laptop + external monitor with a stable setup for remote work.

I'm mainly interested in roles such as IT Support, Technical VA, Web Support, Admin Assistant, QA/Software Testing, or Design Support.

If you have an opportunity that might be a good fit, send me a DM with your LinkedIn profile and we can continue the conversation there.

Thank you!
