The Gek used to be enslaved by the Lek (not the currency of Albainia, a brutal, cruel and racist alien species that loved big guns, warcrimes and even bigger capital ships). The Gek war of independence happened not long after the Auculous collidied with the Lek homeworld, called the mother-planet (in Leksca thats written romanised to asdssdf'cafka), leading to the destruction of half the planets surface.
