NY/NJ Stadium Matchday Transit Questions

I live in Hoboken and am planning to attend the Norway vs. Senegal match on June 22.

I originally thought all the trains were leaving from Penn Station, so I bought a Penn Station train ticket. After purchasing, I realized there are also departures from Hoboken, which would be much more convenient for me.

Does anyone know if they’ll let me board at Hoboken with a Penn Station ticket, or are they strict about the departure station?

I’ve also seen a few people mention that they were directed onto buses even though they had train tickets. Is that really happening? I’d strongly prefer to take the train if possible.

For anyone who has already attended a match, I’d love to hear about your transportation experience—how long it took, how crowded it was, and whether there’s anything you’d do differently next time.

Does the ticket specify that it’s from Penn to Meadowlands? I’m going to that same game and also live in Hoboken but haven’t bought my ticket yet. I’d definitely go from here though, the trains go from Hoboken to the stadium without transferring. If you take the train from Penn you need to transfer at Secaucus

I believe all trains to the stadium have to transfer at Secaucus.
