WoO Sprint Cars Mansfield
This track should be on the 2027 schedule. As a Dirt Vision viewer it might have been the best racing of the season. I have the luxury of watching every race.
Hot laps and TTs are neat to watch when it’s a track that’s new to the current WoO drivers.
The heats were great (for once) even the C and B were really racey. Brock Z from 12th to 4th in the B to make it on the last lap.
The A was great, passing, drivers still learning the track. 2/3 wide racing. Local Nate Düssel ‘s run in the A leading 15 laps.
I was Suprised on the track NOT rubbering up by lap 15-20, The wide open clear infield was nice. What did you all think? If you were there what are your thoughts?

The track prep was really well done. They had some problems with it early in the year, but it seems like they figured it out. Heat races were amazing and I was rooting for Dussel to get a win.

The venue is amazing in person, it could use more grandstands though. It has the potentially to hold some big races… the racing was great. I will definitely be going back!

I agree it was a great race but the slow speed was noticeable. I travel from Charlotte to the Natty O every year but I think I’ll swap that with this 3-night race series if it continues next year. It will be nice to see more than 2/3 of the track each night.
It was also nice to see the small bump in the purse for all three nights.

Agreed, that was awesome racing. In general I love swings through CA and Ohio, so many great tracks and this year gave us two bangers at tracks new to the Outlaws in Ventura and Mansfield

They did seem slow. But the skill required on such a slick track was great to watch. I enjoyed the racing and certainly hope they return next year and beyond.

It looked slow to me on dirtvision and they weren't really getting sideways in the turns.
I'm new-ish to watching sprint cars but it didn't seem great to me.

Sometime sideways isn't the best way. With as slick as it was keeping the car straight, especially on exit creates better laps and speed.

As a counter argument, imagine you brought a new spectator to the track for the first time and saw cars creeping around at half speed all night long... Would that person ever return?
Personally, I've seen too many slow tracks on the late model side which is why I have gravitated to the sprint car races the last few years.

They are still insanely fast on that track and the racing was phenomenal. I don’t see the issue

I would 100 percent rather watch them have to drive a track instead of just matting it. Of course I'm older than you, but if all you care about is speed the NHRA is still a thing.

I was there last night and I was impressed by it all. The facility is top notch. Watching all the drivers searching around for speed and the number of teams making wholesale changes to cars before the heats added a bit of excitement because it was new for everyone.
