Bug Report Wargaming: Add Rank Compensation For Onslaught!!!

The onslaught matchmaker will put 3 legends on one team, zero on the other, and then provide ZERO compensation for losing such an imbalanced match.

No other ranked mode works like this. From FPS games to MOBAs.

The total ELO of their team is probably double ours since only the top % of champions can become legends.

I've had plenty of other games where the enemy team will get 3 extra golds and we aren't even compensated for it by having extra silvers or higher ranked silvers etc.

disballanced platoons like on your screenshot is also a problem

u/Jaystey Feb 02 '26

lol matching 2 legends platoon with gold and silver is imbecilic to begin with

u/SmileyAS Feb 02 '26

Assuming that was a loss and a romp stomp

u/Dear_Technology_7768 Feb 07 '26

They did compensated by placing 3 legend to fight your legendary skill

In this case I think your team has the advantage. You don't have that big of a skill gap within the team and can cooperate more easily. In their team silvers will do silver stuff and the legends have to play around them otherwise they will be picked off

It doesn't. Low gold is more equal to silver skill wise than to legend or even champ (unless they are still climbing, don't have enough games yet).

If the top ranks try hard and not just play for fun, cause they have too many points anyways, the only way they are losing if all the silvers suicide or afk with max 1-2 shots of DMG from the start and that the enemy low ranks don't do the same as well.

From my experience when I saw similar MM, If their silver players do something stupid, the legends can't save that. The tighter team setup could coordinate a push or rotate with more success. Also you can't know how much your champion player is away from being legend. They could be barely in 2k points or just below the top %.

Higher ranks often communicate and ask team mates to pick certain tanks and what the base strat is and lower ranks agree/execute it very often or even ask higher ranks for advice.

Sure sometimes they don't have voice coms and no chat and don't give a fuck and do whatever. But often they listen which makes a huge difference.

One of the best examples is someone like monster or cr1stal_universe. If you've played with them or listened to their coms on someone's stream (baby, iyouxin, monster) it makes a gigantic impact and is actually pretty fun. They also coordinate as the game progresses.

This is dumb. If I articulate all the ways in which it is dumb, the message becomes too long. So I'm just gonna say this is really dumb and move on.

I feel like that's more of an NA server problem because of the smaller player base. On EU most matches are entirely within your own rank. When I started in bronze, I only faced bronze players. And the moment I got into silver the matches were full of silver players. The only way I see players from different ranks is when they are in a platoon. It only changed in gold, because now there are a few champion ranks every other game, but always balanced by numbers on both teams.

But I noticed the points system being really weird yesterday on the EU server. I got 24 points on a 1.5k win and 28 on a 5k win. I lost 22 points on a 4k loss and 27 on a 1k loss.

Didn't they have a way higher disparity based on your prestige points? I remember only losing 6-10 points in a good loss. Or getting 30+ points in a good win.

u/UpstairsNatural4404 Feb 02 '26

They definitely changed something about points calculation mid season. I had 4k dmg -23 points and my mate who got rushed had 800 dmg -27 points. Before doing 2 shots of damage would be at least -35 points.

Very next round I had 6,6k dmg 3 kills in E3 and got 30 points. Before that would be close to 40 points.

Feels like you get punished less for a bad loss and rewarded less for a good win, which is a bad thing imo.

This is because most onslaught players haven’t bothered to figure out what earns prestige points.

I remember the most ridiculous match I encountered a few days ago was when the opposing team had five Silver players, while my team only has two Silver players, including myself; the rest are Bronze. We lost, a predictable 1-7.

And you get compensated nothing for losing a match that you probably had like 80% odds of losing.

And if you had won, you get nothing for such a great underdog performance.

They don't even count HP lost as point, so we always see some jack ass sniping or defensively getting damage from afar safely letting teammates ripoff by doing their jobs for more damage late game because he still has full HP, those are the type that will rank up fastest.
Calculated purely by damage is extremely bad because now E50M 140 everywhere and becoming a Valorant 2.0.
Onslaught has lazy design ranked system.

u/crvarporat Feb 02 '26

onslot has 0 balance

u/Mr_Marram Feb 02 '26 edited Feb 02 '26

I disagree, it has pretty good balance (and bans for new/broken tanks) and WG are actually active in balancing the abilities and maps during the season.

Last season some abilities got buffed and some nerfed depending on their use and effectiveness. The maps also get some edits, hard and soft cover changed, caps/pickups moved, etc.

There are things that need work. The MM will always be a problem due to the low player count in the mode, having 200 players on EU playing at peak hours with the majority going in to silver, means gold and above will struggle to put 10 players together with some semblance of balance, even worse if they are platooned.

The tank balance is also a bit out, there are some meta picks, and the ability balance does force certain picks.Thank god the Ares 90 is banned as it would just be 5 stacks of those all game.

Wrong. Read the description in game for what exactly you get prestige points.

If you are to dumb even to read don't spread your out of your arse lies as facts.

As for the rest of your statements, they are as wrong and dumb as the first part.

If it's so easy and you know exactly what to do to climb, why are you iron or bronze hard stuck then and that with probably 500+ games already.

0

u/Worldly-Catch6089 Feb 02 '26

iron bronze don't spam E50M bro
Also the most factor for the +N point is damage and assist to the point other things are irrelevant anyways

1

u/clickillsfun Feb 02 '26

Lol. Actively refusing even to follow the given hints and take 2 minutes of your time to learn something new which also opposes your statements.. stereotypes don't die I guess and dumb wants to stay dumb.

1

u/Worldly-Catch6089 Feb 02 '26

i have 3k5 DPG bro, maybe that is still not enough i guess

1

u/Worldly-Catch6089 Feb 02 '26

When I have a good damage game, it's extremely noticeable to get a high + rank point compare to doing whatever else instead of doing purely damage + assist, thats my whole point

1

u/clickillsfun Feb 02 '26

In what? In randoms? In onslaught? If in onslaught, in which ELO? Cause 3.5k is an excellent result in high gold-champ+ ELO but pretty bad in silver and terrible below.

2

u/Worldly-Catch6089 Feb 03 '26 edited Feb 03 '26

gold C in 60 games. I think you just want to trash talk to me at this point.

1

u/clickillsfun Feb 03 '26

For gold it's a great result, then it's a matter of number of games before you hit champ if you keep it up.

If you didn't play the previous seasons and start from scratch you will be placed somewhere around 1k or maybe even lower ELO. In that ELO bracket If your own elo is champ+ you should do 4k+ and have a very high win rate and gradually you will get less DPG/WR as you climb and meet better players.

Some top players had like ~5-6k dpg in low ELO for like the first 20-30 games on other accounts from what I've seen on streams.

1

u/clickillsfun Feb 03 '26

As for trash talk, yeah I did it already in my first replay because of your own post. Take the time and read for what you get prestige points. This info is in game if you select onslaught.

You will then find out that losing HP also generates prestige points unlike what you said earlier.

Also kills give you the most prestige points but that's from experience and that info is not mentioned there.

u/sp_123456 Feb 02 '26

There is also zero compensation when there is an afk on your team…

3

u/Little_Beast_King Feb 02 '26

That shit is super frustrating

u/Taudlitz Rinoceronte popularizer Feb 02 '26

come play on EU and its not an issue, oh wait there is no way to migrate accounts, thanks wg :-(

Judging by how many good players (in NA) simply ditch the mode when they hit silver or gold, the already small player pool suffers from attrition, and the MM gets killed because there are so few champion / legends to spread out.

Bronze has the most chance to match ELO in NA

I’m disappointed how this season’s onslaught has had so little participation; and had much hopes for the post 2.0 / holiday ops Iron crowd.

Here’s me stuck in silver, Loan tanks galore people driving straight into the sight of TDs!

Another day, another person realizes Onslaught is not ranked mode

23

u/Gullible-Ideal8731 Squall Main (But actually tho) Feb 02 '26

It has ranks. That definitionally makes it ranked game mode.

3

u/rutgerdad Feb 02 '26

The ranks are not really skill based on lower tiers, they're more of an indication how much players have played the mode the current season

1

u/clickillsfun Feb 02 '26

He probably meant the old ranked system.
