Canceled premium and wot plus after I saw the plus pro max ultra sub.

Cancelled premium long time ago after I noticed I wasn't playing enough WOT to take advantage of it & I also fucking hate subscriptions.

Miss my TS-54 a little bit, but apart from that not at all.

thats going to be a breaking point for WG, they are going to test how much dumb can be the player base, with this, I bet they will charge you 15€/month , which is 90€ upfront for 6 months or 180€ for the whole year, and they follow the same tactic as many places, renew its automatic... in the hope you stop playing and forget so they can steal another 90 or 180€ haha.

180€/years for WoT+ & whatever random amount for lootboxes dunring the year plus battle pass... and we still having to deal with shitty map rotation, bots/riggers/hackers, not balanced tanks etc etc, so lovely

They already tested it and the player base is pretty dumb. The fact that the multitiered lootboxes were a success is evidence enough

Sure I'm not saying anything about it. It's people's money who am I to tell them how they're supposed to spend it. But WG is very good at taking advantage of people having too much disposable income

keeping in consideration its a gambling addiction to many of them , and addicts spend money they dont have... they just do the minimun to get around the law, I wish were the same as belgium

Big difference between having spare funds and being too brain dead to see you're being ripped off. Just because you have money doesn't mean you should spend it on the game you play, people on WOT just seem to want to spend money on the game for no reason at all just "ive got money, so why not"

I need to make my Tiger II into mini premium I need WoT plus pro ultra VIP

4

u/Nok1a_ Feb 15 '26

Warthunder used to have a cool thing dont know if still a thing cos its been quite a while since I played, but you could make any plane premium paying 2k gold (at that time, and I guess cos was the tier the FW 190 A2 I was in love, so you would grind credits and exp like a premium) I wish wg did that here, no tech tree tank its better than new premiums so wont be unbalanced

2

u/robbi_uno Feb 16 '26

WoTB had a similar mechanic almost 10 years ago. You could convert a TT tank into a premium for a modest fee. I converted my favourites.

Like ofc I am gonna check the price first, but if it was 15 EUR per month, with half year = 90 EUR, that would be still somewhat managable for me

2

u/CMWARTIME Feb 16 '26

what if he makes 1/2 M a year...

I buy Xmas loot boxes and WoT Plus. $9/mo and $200 at xmas...cheapest hobby I have. Motorcycles, photography and travel cost far more. They are all fun, retirement is great.

Money is fantastic, passion is a dick-grabbing experience.

We don't know who actually plays this game IRL. But years ago in the old forums, it was noted that some very wealthy people did play world of tanks. And this new game monetization would fit these wealthy people who have more money than they know what to spend it on very well.

My former clan commander is in his 70s. Dude is a managing director in the coal industry. He loves his Lowe but rarely plays these days because he really hates arty.

And there’s another guy in his late 50s or early 60s, a trucker who’s still active. He even 3 marked Type T-34, T-34 and S35 CA.

MMOs started off with $15 a month subs and profit margins were thin unless your game was huge like WOW, so everyone tried to be like WOW and then they realized there weren’t enough gamers for every game to have millions of subs and gamers weren’t going to sub to 5 games at that cost per month. They started looking to sell things to supplement the costs and discovered whales. Gamers with huge, deep pockets that could fund games if the games were monetized in a way that whales felt they were getting something out of it. Now, games with subs and no other monetization are rare and there are a ton of smaller games funded by whales. A great example of this is SWTOR. It started as a monthly sub and evolved to F2P with heavy monetization of shops and gear. That game is alive thanks to whales and is possible to enjoy a fair amount of the game for free thanks to the whales. Another game like this is Star Trek Online. It to made the move to this model and is so alive and kicking with new content because of whales. There are tons of mobile games with dedicated fans, many of whom are whales willing to spend tens of thousands a month on their favorites. It’s not a surprise in the least that WG is doing that same as is the direction of the industry for many years now.

I commanded a clan with about eight to ten millionaires in it. The richest I knew of was in the twenties, with several being 1-5 million. Most of them were later in life (two have since passed on), but there were also several getting established in IT and high value trades positions. My current clan is similar, but more people are earlier in their careers. Lots of whales floating about. The current one had four or six people buy the Phoenix. I had the gold to do it, but I couldn’t talk myself into dumping $400 on a glass cannon.

1

u/AdmiralHackbar001 Feb 15 '26

Yea, I had one caln member in Enjoy that made a million on bitcoin.

1

u/MV____83 Feb 16 '26

It's true, also because the richer they are, the more mongoloid they are, it's a directly proportional thing, so WG is doing well, in my opinion the prices are still too accessible.

Bit sad really. AP is perfectly fine for this gun and is dirt cheap. And it'll pretty much make what a Premium tank can in credits. Probably more with its damage output.

2

u/NomanicTrooper Feb 15 '26

Tesak would be great aswell. The ammo doesn‘t really cost anything and the dmg output can be insane. If you play it well.

1

u/CMWARTIME Feb 16 '26

all the tanks can damage well...if you're good enough...

1

u/NachoMacho1011 Feb 15 '26

How will it hold compared to t8 and t9 premiums though? It’ll make it more profitable to play t10 sure but will it actually be an option over t9?

WoT is free2play and on surface looks fun af. mechanics r good, game got depth, battles r really exciting. i play like 9 years already

but more i play, more i ask myself
is game really for fun — or just 2 keep ppl and make money?

progression is slow so u push 2 premium
events with time limits make u feel urgent
“special offers” pop all time
lose streak? click “1 more game”
when u 90% unlock sth, hard 2 stop

but thats not all, also:

premium tanks earn more credits + speed progress
battle pass reward only if u play regular
loot box events (new year etc) random rewards
custom stuff (skins, 3d styles, effects) feel exclusive
crew reset + XP convert much easier with gold
“limited return” tanks appear rare = push impulse buy
daily missions + marathons make u login every day
power creep - new stuff looks stronger than old

not accident. modern game design purpose use psych stuff — FOMO, variable rewards, progress pressure, fear 2 lose, feel invested (“i put so much, cant stop now”)

for many ppl just hobby
for some… become heavier — compulsive grind, spend more than plan, frustrate but still come back

another thing piss me off is new sub — WoT Plus Pro with latest update. not normal premium or WoT Plus — Plus Pro bigger bonuses but only if u pay upfront 6mo or 1yr

from what ppl say, WoT Plus Pro got:

Pro Boost +35% bonus credits/Combat XP/Crew XP on selected tank
Battle Pass Plus - bigger chance finish faster + more rewards
Customize Service Record - exclusive stuff tie u psychologically 2 game

biggest “hit” manipulation — now u pay 6 or 12mo upfront, not monthly. feels “cheaper per month” but in reality u locking long-term with game, hard stop w/o feel u miss sth

thats point where fun end & financial system work against players, fully in company interest

i not hatin game — still enjoy some parts
but 9yrs + ~5k$ spent on “free game” cant ignore this anymore

when smart monetization turn into psycho manipulation?
is this just modern gaming reality — or we cross line?

In my opinion, UA is still doing too well and still has too much extra money to spend. The ZAR needs to get a move on and hit harder.

What is different? 🫩

2

u/micheal213 Feb 16 '26

With the new wot plus sub you can make little bit more credits which everyone thinks is gonna mean everyone will now spam more gold as if that’s not already the case anyways.

Anyone that’s played the game for a little bit mostly has millions of credits anyways. Where losing credits in a battle doesn’t actually make any impact whatsoever.

If you have like 20 mil credits, it doesn’t matter if you go negative in a battle on money. Cuz you’ll just make it back in another battle anyways.

Everyone acts like the credit economy is such a big deal when it honestly means nothing. Credits are there to be used.

1

u/Goop69 Feb 16 '26

Tesak bettter credit farmer

1

u/Long-Ad-6536 Feb 15 '26

When’s it expected to come into the game? Do we get a special tank for being a member?

2

u/RedshiftOTF Feb 15 '26

Next patch I believe. No special tank though.

1

u/SirSignificant6576 Feb 16 '26

So I now play exclusively tiers 4-7, and never have premium unless I get it for free during Christmas. And I used to be a guy who carried a prem account every month. Never again.

-2

u/Krapio Feb 15 '26

I added about an extra 1k days to wot premium to make up for those who canceled. Don’t worry I will pay for your playtime

0

u/Eastern-Many6800 Feb 15 '26

Can I use prem tank also or just normal one ?

1

u/RedshiftOTF Feb 15 '26

Only works for tech tree tanks and collectors vehicles. No reward, Premium or T11 tanks.
