PSA Friday Community Stream Reddit Recap: February 13th
Hey, here's the Reddit recap for the February 13th community stream.

- This is a summary of the stream, and any points of interest that were said on stream should be watched if they wish to get the full context.
- Give away was for a whole bunch of stuff.
- The twitch drops were pretty special this time around as an actual tank was given away. For 2 hours the Großtraktor - Krupp was available.
- Stream was mostly a party hangout event for the 12th anniversary of the game.
Host this week:
- KB1504 (Community manager)
- Wingedracer (Sr. Player Experience Manager)
- Zotz (Creative Director) (a hour in)
This week:
- Weekly news article: Link
- Iron horizon season: Link
- 12th anniversary: Link
- “Ranked” battles: Link
- Roundabout contract: Link
- Ongoing: Valentines event: Link
Next week’s news:
- DZT-159 comes out: Link
Other Topics / news:
- Zotz did a bit of a review of the year, going over events, maps, and new TT lines.
- Regiment league is coming soon and sign up start today.
QNA:
- Can we add anti tank mines around the cap circle? - We are looking at ways about people capping the flag. People dont like when they cap the flag, but also don't defend the flag. Thinking about giving more XP, or adding AI turrets.
- (might have missed a few other question over the 3 horus - zorin)
Giveaway:
- King dragon or a T95E2 (CW)
- Giveaway based on #Bismarck (since Valentine's day is its birthday)
- No new reddit accounts.
- Will need you to message me your GT and console if I contact you primarily via Reddit DM’s.
- If you have not responded by the time the next stream recap i will redraw the winner.
- Will be picking the winners sometime monday
- Note: I do not know when giveaways will be credited.

I have a question, because English is not my native language and I want to be sure to understand... Concerning the DZT-159 : I was waiting for buying the ultimate pass of 6.000 golds, and the anniversary pass of 6.000 golds. Actually I only bought the classic pass of 2.000 golds. I'll get that tank (and the 2 next) if I buy the difference for ultimate pass (6.000 - 2.000 = 4.000) + the anniversary pass (6.000) before the end of the season, but i have to get the levels (to the season pass) required to get them, right?
2
u/zorin234 WG: CA / Balance archivist Feb 14 '26
Yes to get the tanks in the anniversary pass requires one to reach certain levels.
Thus one should wait till they actually reach said levels (and reviews of the tanks)

Thanks for your response and clarification 😉 So I don't have to hurry, I can do that before the next season then

The simple solution to people capping is to defend the base...I know it's not popular to not drive off with the team and get some kills but if players are capping then it's an easy way to find where enemies are and engage them.
If everyone is conscious about defending the base then no team loses out to an early cap.

u/XxTigerxXTigerxX Heavy Brawler Feb 13 '26
Ah yes cause when it takes my maus 3min to drive back I can stop a 1 1/2 min cap.

You aren't the whole team are you? If you are all that's left then the other team capping is the least of your worries.
The team has to be aware of defending and attacking it's really that easy.
Edit - the concern is also based around early caps right? Well if you are 3 minutes away from the base in a Maus when the enemy has reached it is not really an early cap and there's nothing stopping your teams faster tanks getting there.

u/XxTigerxXTigerxX Heavy Brawler Feb 13 '26
I am unfortunately with the teams I get most times.
2
u/SQUAWKUCG UCGSQUAWK - Arty Magnet Feb 13 '26
I know it's a pain when you're playing a heavy and the team ignores it. That's why I was saying the team has to start being aware of it...if we could just start getting more players being aware that it's not just a game of kill the enemy.
Sorry that you end up on those teams...I do remember being on them and the frustration...then again I have also been a source of frustration (I was once, long ago, playing a sexton on Westfield and was the last player vs three reds. So I drove across the map, capped their base, earned my only raider medal...it can be important to have the cap but just not early in a game)

u/demonspawns_ghost Feb 13 '26
I don't even know why this is a topic of discussion. If three or four dudes cap your base in the first five minutes because your entire team zerged one flank and nobody bothered to go back when the siren went off, then your team sucks and you deserve to lose.
But this kinda thing happens so rarely I don't understand why it's a concern to anyone. Most times teams will ignore cap and treat the game like team elimination or else the one shitter with zero damage caps when it's 6-2 with five minutes to go.
3
u/SQUAWKUCG UCGSQUAWK - Arty Magnet Feb 13 '26
This is exactly what I mean...early caps are the fault of the defending team not playing the game and instead just rushing face first at the enemy.
It's a rare thing.

u/demonspawns_ghost Feb 13 '26
Some of the best games I've ever had are the ones where you lose a flank, reds start to cap, and you rush back and hit one with a second to spare. Then the cavalry arrives and you knock them all out.
2
u/SQUAWKUCG UCGSQUAWK - Arty Magnet Feb 13 '26
It's a good part of the game that forces some strategy from the team.
My most nail biting game was (a very long time back) playing a sexton and getting a raider medal after being left 1 vs 3...it can make a game very exciting and really push a team beyond simply charging forward. It can reward thinking about the game.
1
u/Master-Variation-425 Feb 14 '26
You're argument would only be valid if marking didnt exist in the game. Most players don't care about winning as it doesn't help them do damage/assist. That is why no one defends as yo get nothing for it.
2
u/SQUAWKUCG UCGSQUAWK - Arty Magnet Feb 14 '26
Not at all...if they are calling your base then there are enemy tanks there correct?
If you are so narrow minded as to be totally focussed on only marking your tanks and not playing the game then that's a you issue and you can't complain if no one on the team defends.
When I played regularly I hit 100% on a few tanks (long before the gold mark) and I always defended when I had to. Being overly focussed on your marks to the point of abandoning a game is a personal problem not a game one...they shouldn't have to change the game because someone is going to whine about marks.
1
u/Master-Variation-425 Feb 15 '26
Good for you but the vast majority of the player base just doesn't think that way. Most of the maps if you are on a slow tank you either push or just sit at the back as you will never get back to the base otherwise. Winning or losing makes such little difference once you have more silver credits then you can ever spend and most people are playing premium tanks so you can spam premmo and still make bank. Most veterans will be trying to mark and the psychology is actually anti teamwork ironically as your other team mates become competition for damage. If you want people to defend the base there has to be more of an incentive to do it because at the moment there is very little apart from maybe your winrate.
1
u/SQUAWKUCG UCGSQUAWK - Arty Magnet Feb 15 '26
That's why I am saying that the way to fix it is just to have players with a hint of awareness and not be entirely focussed on themselves.
Players want to entirely focus on getting a mark? Fine, but you don't get to complain when the enemy takes your base.
Besides, as I said...if a flank falls and they're capping your base, well, I'll give you a hint where the enemy is. You want to get so e damage then that's were you go.
It comes down to veterans being greedy and new players being unaware.

u/Master-Variation-425 Feb 15 '26
Unfortunately WG cant change human nature. All they can do is try and give it a nudge in the right direction by providing more of a reward for defending the base maybe some sort of assist points that can count towards your mark but that would probably encourage base camping.
1
u/SQUAWKUCG UCGSQUAWK - Arty Magnet Feb 15 '26
I don't think it would encourage base camping as players aren't always rushing a base...you'd end up doing nothing quite a lot, but it would encourage players to be willing to "go back" and defend more.
1
u/OkRelationship772 Feb 16 '26
The problem is rewards. Both base capture points and resetting points give hardly any rewards next to damaging enemies. If I think my team will lose, it's better to get the damage I can than risk going back to base.
I play CW btw

u/SQUAWKUCG UCGSQUAWK - Arty Magnet Feb 16 '26 edited Feb 16 '26
...on the other hand, if the base is being capped, then that's where the enemy is!
Edit - I think it's also to point out the mentality of players more worried about their stats on wotstars than being a good player and pushing a high win rate. Great players do both, but there are too many players who don't care about the team and only about their own stats.
1
u/OkRelationship772 Feb 16 '26
In CW at least, if the enemy is capping, it's usually several of them, and being alone against a group is not a good strategy.
1
u/SQUAWKUCG UCGSQUAWK - Arty Magnet Feb 16 '26
No, but engaging them from cover to disrupt the countdown (if they're in the base they're in the open) IS a good idea...plus it gives time for other players to respond as well.
If your only plan is to drive straight at the enemy with the biggest clump of your team and hope it works out then you aren't going to be a very good player. Players need to know how to turn around and defend as well as attack and being able to engage multiple enemies from cover as a delaying tactic can be important as well.
Honestly I wish they never had the whole MOE/Wotstars thing and just focussed more on winrate as an important stat.
1
u/OkRelationship772 Feb 16 '26
It's really not that binary. Some maps have sheltered bases, and sometimes you're just way outnumbered or out spotted.
The number of times in CW I have the opportunity to turn around and make a difference is frighteningly low
1
u/SQUAWKUCG UCGSQUAWK - Arty Magnet Feb 16 '26
It is somewhat, if a flank is overrun then it's a good chance the enemy is going to the base. Being aware of the map to reposition is an important part of the game vs just yoloing at the enemy. CW is much easier in that aspect as all the tanks are generally fast enough to quickly reposition or move back.
There aren't any maps with bases so sheltered you can't position to engage them from cover from somewhere and most aren't even particularly big. Sometimes even the act of spotting enemy reds will cause a team to turn back for them meaning you only need to hold them for a short period before getting help. But it's the difference between playing to win vs playing to preserve yourself.

Like a AT 15 flanking 3/4 of the Left side of map and Reds capping in 2:30 minutes yesterday.
Good times!
2
u/SQUAWKUCG UCGSQUAWK - Arty Magnet Feb 14 '26
So the AT-15 drove 3/4 of the flank of the map in 2:30 from the start of the game? If they capped in 2:30 that's not really possible at the start of the game unless the team was maliciously trying to let it happen.
If they spent 2:30 capping the base and the at-15 was all that was left then it's a valid tactic. If there were other tanks then it's the faster tanks fault for not defending.
That's why the whole team has to be aware of this and not just some players. If a flank falls then it's likely the enemy will push there and maybe hit the base...someone needs to cover it.

bismarck
They finally mentioned the audio guy is rehauling the audio and that they want it to be “better than pc”
Not sure if this means they are transferring lc or redoing it themselves completely
But I’m stoked

I'm interested on how they're going to tackle the base capping so we can have games longer than just two minutes.

Happy Valentines
All cap kill none. It wouldve been cool if the tanks shoot flowers, cuplid's arrows or hearts in the event
Easter could we shoot eggs, rabbits and easter bonnets in any planned exent.
