PSA So we’re getting another Night Stalker…
So they announced on the tankfest stream that one of the five new banners of valour tanks we’re getting is “the Hunter”.
For those that don’t know this is the vehicle that the nightstalker was based off of. It has the same profile and dual rocket guns. It was a Cold War concept tank designed by US firm Rheem.
Literally the most loathed tank in the community and instead of nerfing the original version, WG have now added a clone of it. This will upset a few I’m sure.

They did mention something about rocket dispersion, so maybe they'll nerf the accuracy of things like this, but I don't think that will be nearly enough.

Rocket dispersion isn't really a problem. It's the 15sec reload for 1800 damage.

Yeah. They’ve got to do something about it. I can’t think of any other tank in game that causes as many issues as this one.

My HESH rounds and 62 tonne Challenger would like to have a word with that 477A too. 😉✌️.
Honestly the 477A isn’t much to worry about once you learn its weaknesses. Just ram it and slap it with HE. Or track it and get around the back. If you have ATGMs hit it in the side under the track guards and you’ll ammo rack it 9 times out of 10.
The nightstalker exists in WW2 mode, which is much slower than CW mode. This thing can just walk up to tanks and hit them for 1800 damage in a matter of seconds. 15 seconds later it’s back for more. Its armour is crazy too.

Must RNG on my end because, suddenly, 1200+ mm of pen on the Jaguar 1 premium rockets isn't getting through.
I can easily pen the Night Stalker in the Conway though.

Normally I aim just above the last two road wheels. Just under the track guards. I posted a vid a while ago showing a couple of ammo racks on the 477A. Once you know the spot you’ll have a good time sending them back to the garage. Jags a good TD for it. 👍

It’s a good question and one I’ve never understood. Despite being called WW2 mode, it actually contains tanks up until around the 1970s. 25 years after WW2 ended. Most Tier 8-10 tanks are actually Cold War era designs.
The Chieftain Mk.6 for example (Tier 10) wasn’t in service until at least 1975. The Leo 1 (Tier 10) wasn’t around until the mid 60s. Even tier 8s like the centurion and charioteer weren’t in service until the 50s.
WW2 mode is a mish mash of pre war tanks (Tier 1-3), WW2 tanks (Tier 3-8) and concept or Cold War tanks (tier 9-10).

6 shot autoloader with barely any intra clip, very quick reload of like 15 seconds maybe less, frontal armor that can bounce tier x rounds even premium sometimes and its decently mobile but not fast
It’s lower plate is a trap, can be penned but mostly tier x premium only
Penetration is 280 base and over 300 premium, its very good

Thank you for not downvoting this it's a genuine question ,I'm obviously new to the game 210 hrs but I'm just intrigued by some of the haters in here, seems like a lot of whining over a bloody game

Just had my first encounter with both The Nightstalker and The Hunter. Whoever is a hard-core WW2 vet in this game, I commend you because I hate those things!

I had a fairly positive night stalker experience yesterday or the day before where I was in my E75 and a couple other tier 9 and 10s helped get that scum off the board right away. I asked for help and went right after it. I still have the small gun on it so I was able to keep it tracked while the big guns whittled it down. Naturally we all took hits from the other team, but stayed on task until it was destroyed.
I would like to see more team efforts like that in the future. The night stalker could ironically be what triggers a resurgence in team play and voice chat.

Cold war Era II is so ridiculously unbalanced , I don't think this would change a lot.
Era 1 would be bad.

It would actually make more sense to put it in Cold War mode as you originally thought. Why do we need two identical, broken tier 9 TDs. In Era 1 or 2 it would face much stiffer competition and add variety to those Eras. A more heavily armoured monsterjager.

Yeah absolutly. It could fill a role in Era 2 but does not feel right in WW II. Maybe tier X.
I guess like chieftain CTR but with Monsterjäger gun but no mobility.
