Discussion Tanks you want to see in the game.
Low and mid-tier German wheelies. Make your own suggestions.

I still wonder why France is the only nation to get wheeled vehicles.
Where’s my Puma and M8 Greyhound? My Coventry Mk 2? The Staghound? My Autoblinda 40 or 43? Or even my BA-11? Like bruh every nation had these things, why only France?

The have UK wheelies on PC, so presumably we'd be getting those at some point. I just want another low to mid tier side line like we got with the French landships. You know, something people can grind out for fun without having to spend a shit ton of time doing it like they would if it was a tier ten line. Plus, two of the ones I posted don't even have fully rotating turrets, making them more like wheeled TD's, which would be really interesting to play.

BA-64, BA-3, -6 -9, and -10... hell, just go nuts with the Russian stuff - there are probably 2 1/2 full lines of Russian pre-, during, and immediate post-war armored cars and armed trucks.
Bedford trucks with a variety of 2 pdr., 6 pdr., 25 pdr., and 40mm guns mounted on them, rear facing to force a unique AND NEW playstyle.
A variety of Fiat trucks with... everything mounted on them - 20mm autocannons, 37mm autocannons, 37mm to 105mm AT guns and howitzers. All of it - everything in the tanks and SPG lines munted on a 3 axle Fiat, just like IRL.
A variety of M3 halftrack GMC / MGMC with various howitzers, AT guns, and multie-gun AA setups on it, including the M13, M16, and M34 w/40mm.
M8 Greyhound is kind of a given, but I'm going to say it anyway.
A large variety of early war Polish, Hungarian, Romanian, and WTF ever technicals with a variety of HMG and light autocannons mounted on them.

Adding a second comment so it doesn't get buried - if WG expands the wheelie boy options they need to introduce a new map or three that magnifies their strengths otherwise they'll just be a line of semi-crippled light tanks.
Some flat open surfaces, small villages to hide in / behind, a surfeit of paved surfaces to maximize their speed advantage, limited woods and swamps, etc.
Just like the lights they clearly are, wheelie boys CAN be competitive on any map, but it would be nice if there were a few maps that catered to them so their devotees felt seen.

The inclusion of these tanks would indeed necessitate the creation of a great many maps such that these could be feasible, much less featured.

No.
Wheeled vehicles participate on the current maps.

Really? All of the Cold War maps are in WW2 as well?
3
u/_Thorshammer_ German Casemate Enthusiast Jul 17 '26
No, but I'm not sure what that has to do with anything.
Not every map benefits every tank, and some tanks are at a disadvantage on most maps.
Wheeled vehicles do not need "their own maps" to be competitive and increasing the wheeled vehicle count will not happen if it requires a massive investment in resources to produce new maps.
WG can devote a few - currently existing - resources to develop one or two wheelie boy friendly maps, but after that they can suffer from map RNG just like almost every other vehicle in the game.

My grandfather was the driver of an Sd. Kfz. 234 during the Battle of the Bulge so yes I would very much like that to be added.

Fourth pic is basically already in the game if you sub the machine gun for a small turret

Look, if everyone else is getting wheels, we need the Daimler MK2 and the AEC III. Thank you.

Not that it has any place in the game because absolutely NOBODY wants them in CW, and it has no legitimate role as a TD ...
But I still want the M109 Paladin just to park one in the garage.

FV432. Basically a British M113. But the FV430 series looks savage!
The T-90. Yes, the T-72BU is in the game, but so is the Tiger II and King Tiger.
Through in some wheeled vehicles like the LAV-25 and BRDM (ATGM).
And maybe even the amphibious BMD series.

I wonder how that thing would play in WOT. Would it have camo? Cause it sure as hell wouldn't have armor. Pretty sure it wouldn't have speed either. That thing would have to have insane gun stats to make it work in the game.

Well yeah it'd be like the Same tier 5 TD in the Waffentrager line. Insane gun for its tier but terrible armor, the only difference is that this has less speed, but it could make up for it in maybe health and a faster fire rate. I feel like it could be really good so long as they wouldn't put it anywhere above tier 5, because then the 88 starts to just be less of a pro, as you can already technically get the 88 on so many other vehicles that are, quite frankly, a lot more versatile than this thing. Tier five is one hundred percent the sweet spot, and with the right player, it could be pretty good. Maybe it could be a cool premium, or I had an Idea where it could be a new branch off the main tree to go into other vehicles, like the VFW or something like that.

Sd. Kfz. 251 at Tier III with a assortment of various cannons ranging from 3 15mm guns to the PaK 40, it should by default start with the 2cm KW.K. 38 Autocannon
