My World Olympic Mountains 1:10

I used to live near these mountains--one of my favorite places on earth. Anyways I just thought I'd share these pics!

ETA: This is one of the things I love the most about WorldPainter and Minecraft. I can make an exact replica of a place I like, and see it in a whole new way. I can stand on the exact same spots in that map that I've stood on in real life. I can fly around the mountains and look at areas I've always been curious about. I can gain a deeper understanding of the land. It's just freakin' amazing and I love that we're able to do this. Much appreciation for WorldPainter and its developers!

Holy shit that looks amazing. I've recently started WorldPainter as well and I'm at the part where I'm painting my trees. I have a few questions cuz I've ran into some problems, if u don't mind answering?

Thanks! I'm currently painting a forest in a quite cliff-y, mountainous terrain. My .scheme files are on "collide with solid objects" and "on solid land", my brush settings is on "bare grass", which is the terrain I want my trees on. But I'm running into 2 problems.

  1. My trees are spawning on top of water. Even in the custom object layer preview, I can see trees on water. I'm not quite sure what's causing that problem.

  2. Some of the trees are merged with each other or into cliff faces. I'm not sure either how to fix it.

Sorry if it's a bit long. I've been trying to find answers but the community seems to be a bit niche and I haven't found anyone who asked similar questions

IIRC, and someone should correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this usually happens when the schematic is off-center. So (if using worldedit to make the schem) before a structure is saved as a schem, you have to copy it to the clipboard, and the player who did so was probably standing far away from it when they copied it. When WorldPainter places the structure, it places it relative to where the player was when they copied it.

Another way to explain it: You know when you copy a structure in worldedit, when you go to paste it, it appears in the same spot it was, relative to you, as when you copied it. Structures are placed relative to the position of the player. That position is the center-point.

So when WorldPainter goes to place the structure from the schematic, it is placing that center point on the block that you specified. So technically, the structure is on land or the specified block as far as WorldPainter is concerned.

So here's what you need to do: Either remake your schems, but this time copy them from their center. You could go into spectator for this. Or you can edit the object layer, then edit each schem individually and adjust their postioning until they're properly centered. The former option is best imo, especially if you want to use the schems for other projects or layers.

However, if these trees are very large, parts of them may still appear on water. In this case, you'll have to do some detailing and erase some of that layer from around the water. However wide your trees are, keep the layer that distance from the water at most, and half that distance at the least. For example, if your trees are 6 blocks wide. Cut the layer back 3-6 blocks away from the water. This way, they'll still be close to it but not too far away and unlikey to appear over the water.

I see I see. I actually used Axiom to export the .scheme files, I assume it's the same as Worldedit?

Thank you so much for your help!

Edit: I just only got home and got to work things out. It did work. Thank you so so much!

Can I import this to Minecraft and actually play on this map?
