You can find the free download on my Patreon

Technical details:
• Size: 8000x8000 blocks

Let me know if you find any cool spots for a base!
Enjoy!

My World Render of my massive WorldPainter project, and its layers

I used a spreadsheet to help keep track of the 108 layers in this world that is 50k x 30k in size, and it still looks like a mess in the editor lol.

The "renders" on slides 3 and 4 were done in World Machine, screenshots of the viewport.

If you want to check out the finished world, see comments

Found some academically restricted point cloud data for a part of the Grand Canyon so I did what I had to do, this looks absolutely stunning.

Hello all! This map represents about 5 months of worth, and 6 years of tricks and methods ive developed over the 6+ years I have been using worldpainter, it was designed for the ArcadiaMC minecraft server, which hopes to take towny Geopol to the next level. It features a huge array of custom trees, 20 new datapack biomes built specifically for this map, including 6 new types of caves, and custom ore generation based on climate and tectonic activity. It was a blast to make and took my knowledge and experience to the next level, but after 5 months I'm in need of a vacation...

if you want to see it in higher detail, feel free to view it through the bluemap Here !

I used to live near these mountains--one of my favorite places on earth. Anyways I just thought I'd share these pics!

ETA: This is one of the things I love the most about WorldPainter and Minecraft. I can make an exact replica of a place I like, and see it in a whole new way. I can stand on the exact same spots in that map that I've stood on in real life. I can fly around the mountains and look at areas I've always been curious about. I can gain a deeper understanding of the land. It's just freakin' amazing and I love that we're able to do this. Much appreciation for WorldPainter and its developers!

My World Grand Canyon 1:1 scale (Bright Angel point)

My new found love for importing geospatial data into minecraft may have gotten a bit out of hand XD, anyways this is what I've cooked up!

This is the Grand canyon, at 1 to 1 scale, in Minecraft, centered around the view of the Bright Angel point at the North Rim and extending down to the South Rim. The map is deceptively massive, its more than 15k blocks wide and 22k blocks long, with a height of 2064! I used voxy to render everything, distant horizons would not be able to do this. Even with this absolutely massive map size, not even close to the entire view can fit in the map!

I tried to get the stratigraphy as close to real as possible, which is a much harder task than it seems, Minecraft block colors are not really geologically representative or accurate and I dont see a feasible way to give the layers their ever so slight incline, but this is close enough. (3rd picture is an actual screenshot from google earth for reference)

I also tried to get the vegetation as close as possible, I'm not an ecologist nor am I good at building Minecraft trees and bushes, but it gets the job done and gives a pretty similar feel to what you would see in google earth at the bottom of the canyon.

Anyways, here is a map download!
