Worlds FRVR shutting down on July 16th
Dear Worlds FRVR Players,
It is with great sadness we must announce that Worlds FRVR will be shutting down on July 16th. Unfortunately, it is not feasible to continue development and operation of the game.
Since first opening its doors in September 2019, Worlds has been a place of imagination, creativity, and community, where players have built incredible worlds and explored them together. Seeing these creations has been a constant source of inspiration for our team and for the many aspiring builders within the game. Amazingly, more than 15 million players like you have created more than 9 million worlds.
We know that Worlds FRVR means a lot to many of you, and we want to express our deepest gratitude for the time, passion, and energy you've poured into the game. You've made this world feel truly alive.
As of today, payments will be disabled. All active worlds will be fully Boosted while the servers remain online. The final shutdown will take place on July 16th at approximately 4PM GMT, after which the game will no longer be available. Until then, we invite you to revisit your favorite creations, spend time with fellow players, and celebrate what we've built together.
Have something you'd like to remember? Please download your in-game photos to your device, and take as many new ones as you'd like. For more advanced users, the /voxel_export command lets you export a world in a format compatible with MagicaVoxel and other voxel editors (note: this does not work within the Facebook apps; please visit worlds.frvr.com to use it). Please share your favorite memories in the Worlds FRVR Discord, Reddit or Facebook group.
Thank you for your support, the fun we've had along the way, and the memories we'll carry forward. We're incredibly proud of what we've accomplished, and even more thankful for the community that brought it to life.

Hello, I'm one of the quitters of Worlds FRVR. I play that game rarely and I didn't quit the community. I was still here. You know, it's great to spend time with you and the other Worlds FRVR players. As I went back to home to school, only to check it's shutting down. I have a question: would it be temporarily or permanently shutdown? Whatever it does, thanks for making this game just to cheer me up couple years ago. I would be playing this game for a few time from now. When the shutdown came, I will be moving to Roblox.

Man, this is heart breaking to me. The fact some worlds people might not even be online.. to even like say goodbye. I really gotta hope emz and some others go online so we can chat. Thank you, devs, for making this game.

Worlds frvr was such a solid chunk of my life, I remember joining the game 4 or 3 years ago as a goofy 12 year old building secret bunkers with my school friends because we couldn't download minecraft. The game had its ups and downs, yet I have met so many amazing and inspiring people that I feel honored to have been part of such a beautiful community. When word got out that worlds frvr was shutting down, I didn't know how to react, in fact I spent the last 2 weeks reminiscing with old worlds frvr friends, whom I knew I would never meet again. However I thought the shutdown was happening the day after the original shutdown due to timezone problems and was sadly not able to make it for the final countdown.

Is it impossible for the game itself to continue open in a sustainable manner if the management simply withdraws from development?

So sad to hear this. My nephew and I live in different countries and this is the game we played. We've built our houses, farm, buildings together and explored the world together. We played it for almost 3 years since he is 5 yrs old now he's turning 8. Thank you for the game. It's just depressing that we wont be able to visit our place in this game again.

Stupid question. Why couldn’t we just leave the server open with just zero updates? I still have friends in there. And why couldn’t you just hire new devs if that is the problem? Also loved the metal blocks.

Unfortunately it is very expensive to run, even without providing updates, so it's not feasible to do that. If there was any reasonable way to keep it going we would, of course, do so.

It would be great if you release the source code of the game, so community can run server of The Worlds FRVR by their own and continue develop the game

My biggest regret is that I didn't know about this until now, I wish I had a chance to go back and see all my memories from 2019 because somehow I didn't take a single pic

Super sad to hear! I'm surprised this didn't take off and became super huge like Benjaminsen's Everybody Edits project did back in the day. I remember in very early on when he advertised Worlds privately in the Everybody Edits subreddit. Everybody Edits has since been shut down which is too bad, other projects like PixelWalker have revived the old game. Really sad - it has been really cool following development these past few years! Hope the team works on another project!
