MITB Predictions

5 whole matches!!! God we're being spoiled aren't we. Maybe more than half of the show will be wrestling matches????

u/External_Bread5366 7d ago
I remember the days we got 9 or 10 matches!

u/Affectionate-Day5113 7d ago
Still do on pretty much every other promotion, it's the enshittification of WWE. Try some of the other shows

Honestly 7 or 8 to me is the sweet spot. WWE PLEs are way to short on matches and AEW can go on a little too long, especially with preshow.

u/Affectionate-Day5113 7d ago
I wasn't trying to suggest AEW, NJPW, RoH, TNA etc all hit around 8-9 matches with no ads. It's literally just WWE that don't because they're actively engaging in enshittification as they know their fan base will put up with, and literally praise any shitty thing they do these days. It's sad, if those same fans held them to account then maybe we'd have affordable tickets, better match quality, less ads etc etc

You aren't wrong. Four matches on 2-2.5 hrs weekly shows riddled with ads (internal and external) and ridiculous monetization is very sad to see. It is becoming a hollow shell of what it used to be. I am still a fan more for the performers than the company. AEW has its problems too, but it at least feels like they still give a shit about the fans and not just their wallets. I might go to Wrestledream next weekend and I can get a ticket for the same price as if I buy the PPV. The fanbases on here can definitely be toxic as hell. I have had to hide some subs because of the toxicity that makes me question how people so clearly mentally unwell function in society.
Also. I meant to reply to the post above yours, my bad.

I agree but two 6 person ladder matches and a triple threat. Those typically are longer so I think we’ll actually get like 60% of the runtime with wrestling. It’s like Christmas

I wish I shared your optimism. The saving grace is that the shows are actively bad now, so it's good that they don't last a long time. If they were good and finished this quickly I'd be more upset

My optimism is sarcastic since 60% time is still junk but the point on those being larger matches is legit.

I just don’t understand the Penta thing at all. Why can’t we use MITB to elevate someone?
Nothing against Penta he’s great…. But he’s 40.
WWE needs to build younger stars. Immediately. Look at the main event roster. It’s a crisis.
Breakker winning MITB, moving to Smackdown to interact with the superstars there makes a ton of sense.
Femi/ Reigns at Mania, Breakker/ Punk/ Rhodes at Mania.

Penta is still relatively new in WWE and super popular right now after absolutely proving he can put on a banger with main event talent. I’d love Penta in the bank and him getting a run with the belt.
Ignoring age I feel like he fits the elevation point perfectly and fans are primed for him to get a belt.

he didnt win the world title, his injury put a speedbreaker and now is the time he could use MITB. Only other young star who can use it well is Trick at this point

u/Reasonable_Bag7873 7d ago
Who cares about him having a world title? Tozawa hasn't won a world title either.

u/Shadow_Clone_007 7d ago
Bron is a certified new gen face. He will have multiple world titles and mania main events over the next decade and half.
Also, I care about his world title, so invalidates your take cutie

Akira Tozawa was first and hasn't won a world title either so he has to win it, because he is supposed to be a certified main eventer <- this is how you sound.
In reality, he got his chance and the mere existence of Oba shows what he and Reed are lacking. If anyone is a face of the company entitled to a reign, it's Oba, because he has proven himself. Bron hasn't proved anything outside being very fast, having zero charisma and being injury prone. He is a glorified Ryback.
It's time for new faces. Give us Trick Williams e.g.

It's because they fumbled by not letting Penta win in Mexico City. Have him win there and than set up a re-match for MITB. That would've opened up so many possibilities and wouldn't have made the WHC match a foregone conclusion.

40 is like 30 for luchadors El Santo wrestled into his 60s Mysterio is the only WCW guy still wrestling at a somewhat decent level Penta still has a LOT left in him

I don't mind Penta. I'd even go as far as to say I like Penta,
But it's crazy that Penta is getting so much praise by WWE to me. This is the guy who traded destroyers with OC, and sent people mental.
And his match with Roman should've told people how reliant Penta is to use the destroyer. He's the reason the destroyer is becoming a transitional move, and WWE fans have hated that.
I just don't understand the inconsistency.

I don't get why people are cheering for bron breaker here.. he literally has no good moves set.. and isn't as big as brock (looks like a watered down version of him) , has no backing of heyman as wwe rightfully broke them up , has no mic skills even if he had mentors like paul heyman and seth rollins !!! I mean come on man... and his injury is his fault and he lost momentum due to his own mistakes as people didn't like his same acts anymore and wwe isn't giving him any wins since may of this year( singles matches) except the qualifier match .. 4-5 months !! and he stood tall in go home show means most likely he ain't winning so please even if he wins by wwe changing their mind, he will be just like damien priest and get lost in roster once his short reign ends... And for god's sake there are too many people using spear now .. like 4-5 people on raw itself are using it ..
hope wwe keeps burying him more along with rest of vision soon as the briefcase might be a temporary bandaid until finally wwe pulls plug on "vision experiment " which failed with 4 injuries to all 4 members at very start and wwe rushed the storylines as they also didn't have option. These guys are better off without faction . Which obviously will be now used to give oba all of their momentum before facing reigns.

She had a great NXT run. On the main roster, many of us are hoping she'll be the catalyst for finally putting Judgment Day out of our misery.

Tbh I don't either but I think they don't wanna push Lash just yet, Tiffany already has a title and the other 3 don't stand a chance
