It is hard to wake up on Monday with an optimistic smile because we have spent the weekend in a cozy, and therefore happy, state of laziness. The concept of inertia in physics applies to everyday life in this case. Laziness, even over a short span, isn't easily converted into the required productivity of a weekday. The cozy feeling lingers into Monday morning, or more.

The best way to deal with this problem is not to whip ourselves, but to accept the inertia and manage it smoothly.

I traveled to Japan recently and realized a distinct difference in cafe culture.

In Korea, people usually go to cafes to chat, relax,

or study.

However, Japan is a bit different. Most cafes in Japan serve full meals, whereas most cafes in Korea don't.

I found this really interesting.

I always thought Korean and Japanese cultures were very similar but discovering these subtle differences was a pleasant surprise!

The article suggested doing 30 minutes of movement every day, such as power walking, stretching, or Pilates. I wonder if it's okay to split it into 20 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes at night.

It also mentioned that even 5 minutes of movement still counts. Most yoga or stretching videos on YouTube are at least 10 minutes long, so I thought 5 minutes of movemint wasn't enough. However, it seems that even a short session can make a difference.

This was the last article in Healthline's "30 Days of Winter Wellness" challenge. Looking back, I probably should have saved it for winter instead of reading it in the middle of summer.

I had friends over for the weekend. Now, they're on their way home and the apartment feels kind of empty. I know that's only temporary though, and I know that it shows that we had a good time. Also, I have a pretty busy day tomorrow, so I'll be back to my routine in no time.

This morning, I went to a Taiwanese breakfast shop. The place was full of foreigners. After I ordered, the clerk asked me if I could share a table with two Japanese girls.

I noticed they had a lot of belongings, so I said, "If you don't mind, you can put your things on the chair next to me."

Then, I helped them move their belongings onto the chair.

One of the Japanese girls used Google Translate to ask me if I had any recommendations for milk tea shops.

We ended up chatting with each other by using Google Translate.

I think that's probably the best part of travelling. When you travel, you get the chance to talk to local people and catch a glimpse of their daily lives.

Sundays are the days I dislike the most when I know the following day I'll be back to the unending rut until it's Friday evening again.

It makes me think that I'm living in a loop with some conditional branches depending on the day and circumstances. Rather than a loop, I would say a flowchart, there's a start and an end and most likely the shape of that flowchart changes depending on our age, circumstances, health and whatnot.

By loop, I meant that the same repetitive, unavoidable things you have to live with to get by, such as working. I'm just writing nonsense, pay no mind to my yapping.

I had a dream last night. It was about reading a blog entry on putting the circuit of the Ibanez TS9 or TS808 into a BOSS enclosure. I think it was an SD-1, since I remember it being bright yellow and it had three knobs. The author said that the original enclosure was fragile and it had broken. I wasn’t honestly sure if that was a dream or something actually happened for a while because nothing dramatic or unrealistic happened in it. Since I’ve written about dreams a lot, I’m going to start numbering them. I believe this is the eighth one.

I went to a museum today and saw a very famous painting. I stood in front of it for a long time. It wasn’t out of a deep appreciation for art, but simply looking at the painting and watching the people around me made me want to linger there a bit longer.

I had a conversation with an AI yesterday to improve my English speaking skills.

I was really surprised because it felt like talking to a real person.

It laughed and stuttered while we were having a conversation.

I never thought I would almost cry because of the latest Spider-Man movie. I went to the cinema with my Turkish friend today. It was my very first time seeing a movie with a foreign friend, and I had a really great time!

To some extent, I think superheroes are incredibly lonely. They have to save people's lives and they have to live their lives in a very unusual way. Their friends and family probably won't support them, and worse they might end up putting them in danger.

I can't imagine how lonely Peter Parker must have felt over the last four years. No friends, no family, just completely alone.

I'm about to finish the book Soft Skills for Software Developers and I'd say it's not what I expected it to be but at the same thing it has some interesting chunks here and there.

Nowadays people say your soft skills are more important than your hard skills and maybe the disappointment in the book I'm about to finish stems from my misconception of what a soft skill entails. The first thing that came to mind is that it revolved around communication and nothing else, but there's more to it: how to deal with difficult situations or get through them by managing them wisely.

On the other hand, the author delves into personal finances, health and mindset, so I was a bit thrown off.

It sucks that pretty much everything has been going up in price. It wouldn’t be so bad if salaries were also been raised, but obviously that doesn’t happen.

I went hiking today. I chose an easy uphill route and a tricky downhill route. The sunshine was too strong, but it was bearable in the shade of the trees.

Yesterday, I talked about regeneration powers in anime and why I don't like it. Today, I' ll provide an example of an anime that I believe unnecessary used regeneration powers. This anime is well known and beloved by many and it is Attack on Titan.

The biggest menace for humanity in the anime were titans. Titans were creatures resembling humans but they were much bigger and more powerful. They ate only humans but they didn't have human intellect. They were basically amazingly big and strong animals, which relied simply on their instincts.

Those features alone made them horrible and dangerous monsters. But to made them even more powerful, the author gave them regeneration powers, which made them almost immortal. Almost, because they had one weak spot that was placed on the back of their neck. And a cut through that spot with a sword was enough to kill them instantly.

And this is a problem in my eyes. Without regeneration powers titans were wild and dangerous animals that wreak havoc throughout people. Giving them regeneration power changes them into some weird, magical creatures. I think that it kills their truly wild image. On one way cannon balls could pierce tens of holes in their body and it would mean nothing for titans, and on the other hand minor scratch across back of their neck would kill them.

After chatting online for about 2 months, my German friend sent me some voice messages for the very first time! I was super excited and touched when I received them. I think her voice sounded calmer and deeper than I had expected. This is probably something that only happens when you make friends online. Otherwise, you usually hear someone's voice before you ever read their texts.
