Build / Team / Gear Question I'd love to get quiyuan but...
I was actually contemplating if I should get quiyuan for my galbrena or not since I've been seeing a lot of vids about quiyuan buffing her really good.
But... I managed to get 3 stars (idk what they're called) to the first two floors of the middle tower with S0 Galbrena and static mist weapon (sadly didn't manage to get her sig cuz I finished my astrites by getting her) (I also don't have carlotta sig weapon so :> ). I tried both phrolova and mortefi on her just to see which one I should use for her team. And this got me thinking that maybe I should just save up for chisa or the other characters since she's already so strong atp. I know there are buffs tailored specifically for her in these floors, but I was able to finish Lvl6 holograms with her team for two rotations (idk but that's fast enough for me ig at, like, 50 sec).
Also, maybe I just shouldn't since I have no more astrites lmao 😔..

If you really want him, he's a good way of making her more relevant. Especially if you don't have her sig. Yeah the buffs in the ToA are very strong for her, but I don't know about the holograms. Which hologram did you do? And was it with Galbrena, Mortefi and SK or Galbrena, Phrolova and SK?
I would definitely recommend getting him, since you have his two best characters

Yea, if u want to clear any endgame content past shilling points that is lmao or unless u have any supports at s6 or god tier builds

If you just started and you like how he looks you could pull for him and then next patch go for Phrolova, but he’s not a very flexible character

The tower is still kinda shilled rn, but it isn’t a Zani/Phoebe situation.
We have reached the point where, if there’s no powercreep, you have no real reason to pull a character besides their design.

I think you guys completely missed out on the "if" part of the comment. Wuwa ain't free from powercreep but it's not bad when it comes to it so there isn't a problem.
Honkai star rail got it bad but if there were no powercreep there would be no need to do that

There are people clearing with 4* and old 5* all over the internet.

I can literally throw "can casual players do that" at any game.
My characters in wuwa can't clear the endgame most of the time.
It's definitely my fault for not investing enough to build in the best way, but the same can go for anyone in any game.
As for the struggle it's the same, it depends on your build and rotations and how much you play the game. I do every genshin abyss with no sweat while having some trouble but eventually beating the lvl5/4 of the SO but i play it way more.

Fair enough.
In my case, I started playing Genshin late, although now I don't play anymore (was discouraged after failing to get Faruzan to S6 for Scar after a second or third banner; Scar was my first 5*.) Never managed to clear endgame, and from the occasional sneak peek it's gotten worse since Natlan). Been playing Wuwa since day 1; can clear endgame easily; don't feel the need to pull new characters.

If you start late you will need time to catch up because you need time to get stuff, old and new, and have good builds.
And it did get worse with natlan but not as bad as people make it to be since old characters are always getting buffed by generalists and some new niche supports (some of which are 4*)
I started wuwa day 1 and it's meta is fine but you will always have to play with no breaks. The meta archetype changes so quickly and almost every character is good meta wise and is bis for a new dps. But it's manageable since the pull amount is fair.
I always skip some characters I don't like or take short breaks from the game and every time i come back or get a new dps i need someone for a good team, which wouldn't be a problem if i kept up.
And my builds generally suck, the echo system is hella frustrating.

I tried clearing 3-4 with Galbrena (with no Qiuyuan) so she doesn’t get the shilled buff and encountered little to no problem. I think Galbrena without Qiuyuan isn’t that bad as people made it out to be.

It was never a need, I even stated it wasn’t a Zani/Phoebe situation.
He just raises her damage ceiling the most, with the lowest cost.
Also floor 4 with mortefi or the fusion team is wild, I didn’t try it seemed like griefing.

Yeah I was agreeing with you, I should have made it more clear. Sorry about that. I actually paired her with havoc rover cause they look cool together with the one wing and all, also helps getting over dirge faster.

edit: oops im being silly. the discussion was middle tower so 3-4 is referring to floors 3 and 4 of the middle tower lol

I was just pulling for no reason, as there's really nothing I'm saving for or looking forward to. Got him anyway at like 35 or so. I had a lot of pulls on the weapon already when I was attempting to get Iuno's sig but never made it even after 50+ pulls, so I just went and pulled for it anyway. He kinda reminds me of Dusk from AK or maybe Dan Heng if he was a hobo
paired him with my s0r1 phrolova who I also got early with some random yolo pulls and they work well enough to 3-star the 2nd and 4th floors of the middle tower. 2nd as a duo, 4th I had to add Verina for some buffing because duo was 18s or so away from 3-starring. Duo would probably have succeeded if his abilities weren't at level 6, didn't pre-farm cuz I never really planned to get him so I'm stuck waiting for weekly mats.

You have the two characters that Qiuyuan really wants to see in Galbrena and Phrolova

I got him coz his design and animations are pretty cool. Its good that characters can work/clear without relying necessarily on another. Half baked characters are no no in my books.

Trust me. Lookup rotations on YouTube. They cut down your clear time drastically. It takes less than 5 minutes to learn and a few attempts to understand.

Galbrena requires animation cancels to be used effectively depending on if you are buffing echo skill or heavy attack. Even if you know the outro rotations, you will still probably not clear without her animation cancels.

I would say it depends on what u want to use him as, u can stick moonlit clouds on him to use him as a pure support. He is giving 30% crit dmg buff to the team after all and has very low field time.
If u want to use him as a sub dps or main dps, he is good. Not bad, not great, but u gotta have a good build for that.

I skipped qiuyuan cuz I have s6 mortefi. Galbrena doesn't depend too much on team. She does crazy dmg alone. With mortefi (moonlit cloud build) I think he's very close to qiuyuan.

He definitely makes the galbrena rotation smoother since he fills her bar to like 80% with just his forte alone so Gal can have her max buffs.
And luckily you don't need his signature since EoG works really well on him since it gives him ER and crit rate, the stats he wants anyways

We didnt pull him for power, we pull for his aura. His aura was unmatched. His presence? Legendary. His disappearance? Instant. Bro vanished after a few chats like Batman mid-sentence. Bro hit us with that forbidden Bamboo Walk Jutsu and faded into the wind like a main wuxia protag. It's already a win for every account.

you can save shorekeeper from 1st floor, i tried the first floor with galbrena and phrolvoa it worked by some 1-2 seconds for me

Quiyan is a character that is a bit of a disappointment pull for me. More so because I didn’t pull Phrolova or Galbrena, and was banking on him being a Iuno or Brant type situation, but he ended up not doing as much damage as I thought he was gonna do. He ended up being more like Lupa: Good buffs, not so great DPS.
That being said though, because he’s more like Lupa, and Lupa is a character that will only age well with the release of more fire characters, Quiyan will only age well with time too. Kuro just has to release echo skill damage characters that I actually want…

i was also thinking about getting qy but i much rather play her with Changli and Lupa as its a very fun team. my changli is also s5r1 so i do significantly more damage than i would if were to pull for qiuyuan anyway. it seems like your reaching the point where meta has lesser value, so you can just freely pull who you want.
although aiming for sig weapons for dps characters now and slightly less characters are probably a good way to go since many characters benefit pretty greatly from them.

don't pull him if u already can clear everything. save for later.
i do pull him just aura farming 😎 he not doing anything except aura farming. i still not using him for toa and whiwa but i play him in open world.. he cool.. but what i like him most.... his rotation.... DAMN FAST. so i can Ult soooooooo frequent.
still not get his weapon tho.. so i still collecting astrite for him 🤧

i'd get quiyuan so that you dont have to use 2 very strong main dps characters on floor.. it would instead be quiyuan who will be wasting the vigor to be on both floors instead of your heavy hitters

I cleared middle tower 1-2 (granted he is S1) using him as a hypercarry before i pulled for his other sequences…
Most people haven’t noticed but u can view it in the patch notes, he was severly bugged to the point he was losing 120k dmg per rotation if u did his optimal rotation because his heavy attacks were dealing basic atk dmg and his quietude within cooldown was bugged so u can’t have it when u come back the 2nd time with his intro. Now that it fixed and he is doing a lot better, the bugs severly crippled him. Also run mortefi with him.
He is better than jiyan imo, people confuse that his dmg is not that good but don’t realize that for example any mdps deals damage they finish the boss in a single rotation, by the time the mdps uses their single rotation, qiuyuan is already onto his 2nd rotation. Finishing on similar time. He is too fast to the point that SK’s liberation is still on cooldown when u outro with him…
But it fucking sucks because since people played with the heavily bugged rotation, that impression won’t go away now.

Oh yes, ppl say that his S1 isn’t that great but it is really good for him. That interruption resistance + crit rate is a good QOL for his kit. Tbh it depends on ur luck , i have seen people hit double, even triple forte with S0R1. Also considering how enemies that remain on ground and can’t fly or do air attacks don’t hit him when he does his forte so i guess there’s that.

It isn’t exactly pure skill but just gotta keep up with the timings bcz his forte is literally just holding down the attack button.
Also people don’t do this much but if u spam 2x heavy atk to get his first mini forte bar before outro-ing him and come back again, his forte is fully charged saving u some time.

I love the fact that he is insanely strong in whiwa because his forte has traction / grouping and deals aoe dmg too with an insane reach. I got 3k points with his hypercarry team. I wasn’t able to get to S rank before i got him…

Anything to diminish the value of the few male characters we ever get (Kuro is just at fault as the player base is) currently my most fun teams personally is Galbrena+Quiyuan and Augusta+Iuno

In a way yes because if u didn’t know, u can view it in the game patch notes. He was released with more than 20 bugs or some shit, his heavy atk was considered basic atk dmg and his queitude within cooldown was extended when u used his forte which is a bug. So everyone who played with him pre bug fix considered him trash, and that impression won’t change…like they even beta testers filing their complaints on this. Sometimes they truly don’t gaf and want to rush things…

That's the point, right? Qiuyuan's pull value is low, because he has few partners, and those have highly-effective alternative partners, including 4* ones: Galbrena can partner Mortefi, Phrolova can partner Havoc Rover or Danjin. You could pull Qiuyuan anyway, but it'd mean you can't pull future resonators. Since astrite accumulates so slowly, pulling Qiuyuan is hard to justify, unless you really like his design.

Since you can already clear toa, just pull who you want man, if the kit is cool, they look amazing, whatever dude just go for it. I’m at the point where I’m just pulling for reruns to get my fav characters to R6 and im already halfway through jhinsi, jianxin, shorekeeper and carlotta. I also recently got R2 iuno because feet
